We have visited this Brio on several occasions and are on their email list. We headed over at 5:30 on a Saturday night -- it was busy but there were a few open tables and no wait. The decor inside makes you forget that you just came from a huge parking lot and you're next to a mall. An extremely high ceiling with plenty of decorative plants, lighting, and fabric makes it a pleasure just to sit for a while. The restaurant is very open and was busy but never seemed loud.
Our waitress was excellent -- upbeat and very attentive including to our four year old daughter. After taking our order, she came back with dough for her to shape into a pizza. When she was ready, our waitress took her over to the kitchen where one of the chefs put sauce and cheese on the pizza and put it in the oven. Our waitress brought it back to us when it was finished and we all had a taste -- it was pretty good.
The pizza was not nearly as good as our meals. They had a nice selection of kids meals and I didn't mind that they don't include dessert. First, it makes it easier to hold it out there as a reward. Second, they have a great selection of small desserts (like many restaurants now), and it allows kids to pick one of those, if they want.
We had the Chicken Milanese and the Beef Medallions with Shrimp Scampi. The portions were just large enough to fill us but not huge family style portions that some casual Italian places provide. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a crispy breading while leaving the chicken juicy. The beef came out as ordered, medium, and the shrimp and sauce that was served on top was well seasoned but didn't overpower the beef. The side of pasta with the chicken would have been undersauced for our taste but our waitress had already recommended getting some sauce on the side (which she brought with our meal). The orzo with vegetables that came with the beef had a nice selection of grilled vegetables and the orzo was a welcome change from rice.
Our waitress was great. She was always upbeat and made sure we had everything we needed. She was quick with recommendations and was intuitive with her suggestions. I was lucky enough, through the email club, to have the beef as a complimentary entree for my birthday. Our waitress added on of the small desserts on the house. The meal would have been a touch more than we usually spend, but the food and the service were well worth it. We've been there before and we'll definitely be back.
