I have been there a few times but I feel the food is over-priced for what you get. I guess the State Parks have to make their money somehow. My Hot Dog was hot and quick and the Lemonade was very tasty. The sandwiches my friends had only had one small piece of ham and cheese on a very large roll. Too small a portion for the price. There is only one choice on the property so either bring food in or expect to overpay!

What a find. Beautiful clean and nicely contained park. The bike trail and hiking trails were great. We ended up biking down the salt marsh trail that ended at Herring Point. Spectacular. Really enjoyed the beach as well. Wasn't too crowded either. So much better than the beaches in Rehoboth or Bethny and didn't have to feed the meter every few hours.

We are lucky enough to live within a half hour drive of this park. There are wonderful trails for walking and biking (along with free bikes to borrow), an old fort that has been brought back to "life", fishing, a nature center, an ocean beach, and a camping area for those who wish to stay there...just a really nice place that has bayfront acreage and oceanfront acreage. There is also a WWII tower that you can climb and on clear days see for miles. Their fee structure is very fair. The only "negative" to us is that during high tide, the oceanfront beach isn't very wide, but other than that, we really like it. There is a shower and changing room area and snack bar by the ocean beach (open seasonally) and lifeguards are there in season, too.

Beautiful beaches, well-informed naturalists, beautiful hiking/biking trails, an old army fort and towers to explore, and a free "borrow a bike" program. What's not to love?

The bike paths are great through Cape Henlopen State Park. Be sure to check out Fort Miles which is a nearly hidden jewel.
