We booked a year in advance and should have known the snow would catch up to us. WE LOVE IT. Brenda and Kevin took such good care of us. We sat and read by the fire, wandered into the kitchen and just unwound.

Breakfasts are substantial and so imaginative. We spent three hours at the table with friends talking and deciding how we would spend the time before the storm came. Obviously, we went over to the Taylor Brook Winery to spend time with Dick and Linda. A little wine tasting helped keep us warm.

Valentine's dinner was a very special treat. The snow kept all of us in so the dinner plans were changed and expanded. All 6 guests, Brenda, Kevin, Dick and Linda were around the table dining by candle light and a warm fire. It was catered by Working Girl Catering (860-208-0180), who braved the very poor road conditions to save us. This was a fantastic dinner paired with appropriate Taylor Brook wines. Antipasto, Thai veggie bisque, crab cakes (the best I have ever had), beef tenderloins and a special Brenda desert medley. They will also cater a quiet dinner for two at the inn.

We have stayed at the inn before (several times) and really look forward to it. This is a 1700's farm house that has had many lives. Nothing is straight and square, nothing is level. Perfect.

The Quiet Corner has lots to do and see. Brenda has a great way to guide you onto new places every time we go. Make sure you go to the Taylor Brooke Winery next door.

Room Tip: We have stayed in all three rooms. The view across the rear farm yard is hard to pass up. All are very pleasant, large and quiet.

We spent one night enjoying this lovely area of Connecticut. Our hosts, Brenda and Kevin, were informative, attentive, and we enjoyed chatting with them about their travels. Freshly baked cookies await your arrival; hot tea/coffee is available in the evening. Brenda prepared a wonderful hot breakfast. Mary, Queen of Scots, is their friendly indoor kitty which we thoroughly enjoyed petting. The location is in the country, but yet close enough to get to the town of Putnam (6 miles away) for shops and a good selection of restaurants. Next door to the inn is Taylor Winery which we visited the next morning. Note: There is a fairly steep staircase to the rooms which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues; otherwise, enjoy a visit to Taylor's Corner B&B.

We unfortunately stayed only 1 night here at this very lovely B&B. The Innkeepers, Brenda and Kevin were very hospitable. The morning breakfast was hearty and delicious! We had a wonderful room with lots of windows for the evening cool breezes, though they have a/c units in each room. There is also private bathrooms for each room. Brenda makes the soap! The queen size bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Luckily we had a GPS to find this as those little roads in around Woodstock from the highways are convoluting but paved. I would highly recommend this as a stay in the country away from the chaotic city life. The old farmhouse is like a visit back in time. The gardens are lovely. The little towns near Woodstock are so cute. When we were there, Thompson was having a concert on the center green. This entire area of Connecticut is so adorable and quaint. It is like looking back in time.

Room Tip: our room had a queen bed and a single bed so it could sleep three persons very well. A GPS would be advised to navigate around the area with ease.

My partner and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in the Quiet Corner of CT and so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Taylor's Corner. The owners Brenda and Kevin keep the inn immaculately clean, are accommodating and knowledgable hosts, are interesting to talk to, and serve one of the tastiest breakfasts I've had. They made me feel like a welcome guest, and I would definitely choose to stay there again.

Take it slow at Taylor's Corner in woodsy Woodstock or you will miss this old wonderful B&B run by Brenda and Kevin. Brenda's sweet nature is the perfect complement to this nearly 300 year old home. You feel that you are living in another era. The rooms carry the motif of this old inn wonderfully. The breakfasts are delicious and Kevin's cackle and sweet personality is truly addicting. They are the perfect host and hostess for a great inn. It is our 'go-to' place for a winter weekend getaway as it is less than an hour from Providence. Find out why northeastern CT is known as the Quiet Corner.
