We stayed at the Inn this past weekend for 2nights. It is a great place to stay. Both mornings we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Inn which was part of the price of the room. Fresh baked breads and muffins created an incredible aroma. Fresh coffee, cereal, bagels yogurt and fruit were all part of the breakfast. Everyone who works at the Inn is so friendly and welcoming. In the afternoon they offered us coffee from their new Keurig coffee machine and at 6pm they offered wine and cheese, very nice. The bathrooms are big and very nicely done. It is right on the main street and you can walk through the town and find small shops and good restaurants. The first night we ate in Mystic (a 5 minute car ride) at Bravo Bravo. It was delicious. The second night we ate right up the road from the Inn at the Water Street Cafe, also delicious.
The one thing you might want to know is that the seaside rooms do have a view of the water, but there is a large parking lot between the Inn and the water. We didn’t mind, but if you think you are booking a room right on the water you aren’t. This was our second visit to the Inn at Stonington, the first time we stayed at the Inn we were street side, and this time seaside. We were equally happy in both rooms. I think if it were during a warmer weather weekend, I would definitely prefer a seaside room which has a deck; because it was cool weather we were not able to take advantage of the sitting outside. The Inn at Stonington is a lovely place to spend a weekend.
