This new restaurant got off to a rocky start in September, but has made some quick changes, including new chefs and management and the results are now excellent. When we first went to the the Bank Street Tavern, the food was very good but not what we would call excellent. The second time left something to be desired - the consistency was not there. Our understanding is that this was under the "old regime". The last several times we have gone, the service has been better and the food has only gotten better. Our last vist I would rank as excellent, and one of the best dining experiences we have had in the area. The restaurant clearly cares about what they serve as the ingredients are way above typical with Prime grade steaks and burgers made of a blend of filet mignon, new york strip and top sirloin - which makes these burgers unlike anything we've ever had. The menu is very broad with something for everyone, and the pricing is extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality. All in all, I think this restaurant is making the right moves and if you tried it before and were unsatisfied, you should give it another try. This is now our favorite place in the area, and they just received an very favorable review from the CT Post.

We recently hosted our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner for around 20 guests at Bank Street Tavern. They were very easy to work with in menu-planning. The food was really good and the service was excellent. We loved the private room and felt well taken care of. Our favorite buffet dishes were the lasagna rolls and the beef tenderloin. We would recommend this restaurant and we would pay a return visit if we're ever in New Milford again.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences in years....started with bland or no decor, extremely slow service, almost one hour to be served main course with only one appetizer..one dinner was less than tasteless, and returned. The other entrée was served without one principal part of the dinner, it came some minutes later when the staff realized they had left off the ingredient.

We felt that we would have been better off fasting that evening.
