This restaurant is a new pop-up from the owners of another fantastic spot in town, and it doesn't disappoint. The restaurant is tucked back in the rear of the Mystic Boat Yard, and can be a bit of a muddy trip in wet weather (the boat yard is partially a dirt lot). The staff is excellent and the service is quick and friendly, but can be a tad bit slower during peak hours. The food however, is well worth the journey and the wait. The clam chowder is out of this world delicious with its generous portions of bacon, clams, potatoes, and a rich briny broth. The salads are crisp and fresh, and come in a variety of styles. My wife ordered the Clam Chowder and the Kale-Panzanella Salad both times that we visited here on my week off of work. I, both times as well, ordered the "BLT+E Burger" which is a delicious flame kissed burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and fried egg, all on a delicious brioche bun. The food is excellent, and the restaurant views are even better, as it sits on the waterfront property with views of the Mystic Rivers, Mystic Boat Yard, and even the Mystic Drawbridge.

We came for lunch on a busy Sunday and we sat upstairs. Great views good drinks. Very young inexperienced wait staff. Loved the bacon Bloody Mary and chowder ,but it took an hour between our appetizer of chowder and expensive sandwiches. Tiny hot and cold lobster rolls on hot dog buns. The oyster "poboy" was three fried oysters on a hot dog roll with a teaspoon of slaw underneath. There was a constant stream of wait staff going by us paying no attention. Had to flag down a waitress for the bill after over 2 1/2 hours. Don't sit upstairs.

We went on a Friday afternoon at about 4:30, and although there was on one parking spot left, we found that the restaurant was not too busy. At the restaurant, there are outside and inside seating, but we were sat outside on a patio right on the edge of the Mystic River. Our waitress was very friendly, and we had known her from other restaurants that were owned by the same owner as Red 36. There were three of us in our group, so we ordered two appetizers between us: clam fritters and salmon chips. The clam fritters were very good and were served with maple syrup and tartar sauce. The salmon chips came as four fried potato slices with shredded salmon on top of each one along with a spicy sauce in top, which were my personal favorite. Very soon afterwards, our entrees came. I had ordered lump crab cakes which came with dauphinoise potato, which was excellent in both taste and presentation. My mother had ordered the arugula BLT salad with prosciutto and burrata cheese, which she said was slightly large, but very delicious. My father had ordered the short rib angus ground beef burger which he also said was very good. We all finished our plates completely! Then came dessert, where we ordered the key lime pie and the blueberry crisp. The key lime pie was served in a jar with the dessert in layers from crushed crackers, the lime filling, then whipped cream on top. We found both the blueberry crisp and the key lime pie to be excellent. All in all, this restaurant was really good, and I am positive we will return again!

This is a brand new place directly on the Mystic River. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and indoor and outdoor bars. The setting is just gorgeous, and the decor is great.. The menu is just what I like - a lot of apps, salads, burgers, and full course dinners for those looking for a more substantial meal. I went with two friends on the second night they were open and the place was packed. In spite of the crowd, the service was excellent, and the food even better. I'm still dreaming about the Asian Calamari and Clams Casino Flatbread that I had. On my next visit I had the Fish Tacos, and they were very good as well. Can't wait to go back!
