Truly disappointing. We looked forward to going for three weeks. We planned our Friday and Saturday to have Sunday open. We drove the 65 miles to get there. It was so busy the sat us in the bar...fine. Turns out it was a bit too noisy for us so when I saw a small table open up I asked the hostess if we could sit there. She said yes and we moved. Come to find out now we had no server. No one was willing to wait on us now. Probably because they couldn't figure out who was going to get our tip now? We finished our lunch. I wanted another wine and a beer and desert. But there was no way to get to now as we were continued to be ignored by the servers and hostess. We paid for our food and left un satisfied.

shame on you , you suck!!!!!!!

Went for breakfast Christmas week.
We waited a few minutes for a table even though the place was packed with customers.. Wait staff were very busy but extremely pleasant.
We were served coffee right away but it was like drinking hot water..
Definitely can use some improvement there..I ordered the chicken fajita omelette which was superb..I noticed other meals being served around us and all looked delicious in addition to generous portions.. The price was very reasonable..will defiantly return for dinner..

Worst inn experience ever! Our room was upstairs from the bar that was filled with a rowdy Saturday night crowd and "live music" that was a lousy one-man band. They gave us NO warning when we booked this room that we would be just above all this noise. The paper-thin walls also made it impossible to ignore the 50 Shades of Gray going on next door. We finally got to sleep (after bar closed, staff plopping stools on top of bar, hollering to one another, etc) only to be awakened by vacuuming downstairs about 7am. Then there was the shabby bathroom that probably was original to the old house. We tried to call the owner to talk about this, but she didn't return our call. What a waste of a great location.

I am only evaluating the restaurant on the premises. We did not stay here, but saw how cute it looked from the outside. There were mums all around. We stayed at the Wharf, and wanted to eat off the premises a few times. We were thrilled to eat breakfast here. When I couldn't find the restaurant I cross-referenced it to the D M B&B. Although the Christys sign was out front, we didn't realize there was another until looking at the identical menus. Amazzzziig pancakes - the best I ever had! We also tried the eggs and kielbasa and that was fine. The atmosphere and service was good, and the prices reasonable. They do serve lunch and dinner also, and even advertised a live music playing on the weekend, although we had to head home before then. The bar area looked nice. It sounds like this is well underway to becoming a favorite for the hungry diner.

We have been to the Dolly Madison's restaurant (bar actually) several times before, it had been about 9 mos since we last visited. The food was always very good, and the local characters always made for some intereresting conversations. We were pleasantly suprised when we visited on a Sunday evening, that the bar was completely remodeled (same charm) the menu much simplified and the food was excellent. We had a small house (really big) salad and split a Steak and Cheese wrap. The person next to us had a huge Burger - they have a separate Burger menu. Katrina the bartender was great and we had a nice time. If you have never been here, check it out, close to the beach (about 4 miles from Hammonassett) and a gem!

Room Tip: Did not stay just had dinner
