This is the best restaurant in Hartford, including West Hartford. The menu is unique, yet appealing to mainstream and more refined taste buds alike. The prices are decent, staff is sweet, and the ambience is well-appointed. Everything ties together nicely in this one establishment. With Republic at the Linden as stellar as it is, there's no need for any other restaurant in Hartford.

MRG Group has another hit on its hands! Innovative lunch menu - onion soup with truffles, chicken salad sandwich with cranberry mayo, etc. Spot-on Service and rustic ambiance. Nice change from run-of-the-mill eateries.

We have been to the Republic in Bloomfield but today was my first visit to the Hartford outpost. It is located within walking distance of the Bushnell theatre and a great place to grab a bite before or after a show. We sat in a beautiful outside enclosure more than adequately warmed by a gas fire. T has delicious French toast in a more that generous portion. My husband had Eggs Benedict which he enjoyed. The interior of the restaurant is multi leveled with different chandeliers placed. Very pretty and inviting.

Salmon burger and cauliflower quinoa burgers in the grass were outstanding. Server was pleasant and very attentive. Place was busy but we weren’t rushed at all. Great menu with varied options.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Menu selections are creative with the perfect amount of seasonings to complement each dish.
After reading the reviews, we ordered the buffalo calamari. We are so glad we did! The buffalo flavor was pronounced without overpowering the calamari, and the blue cheese sprinkled over it was a nice touch. The calamari was cooked to perfection. It was extremely tender.
For dinner, we ordered the Beef Stroganoff (we loved it during our first visit) and the Peruvian chicken. The stroganoff is divine! Tender pieces of filet, perfectly cooked spatzle, and a brandy cream sauce that will have you wanting more. It is truly a delicious blend of flavors. Your tastebuds will thank you.
The chicken was lightly seasoned and the skin was roasted to a perfection - not too crispy and not too soggy. The whipped potatoes were a very nice accompaniment to the chicken. An arugula salad with a light citrus dressing rounded out the Peruvian flavors.
For dessert we ordered Baked Alaska because who can resist a flaming dessert? The presentation is beautiful, and the marshmallow was cooked to perfection by the flame on the plate. We enjoyed it very much.
Our waitress Josie was very attentive and helpful with all of our questions. She was extremely pleasant and added to our overall enjoyment this evening. We will be dining at The Republic at The Linden regularly from now on and look forward to trying the many delectable menu offerings. This is one place that we are not likely to stick to ordering the same dishes every time.
