The Inn’s New England heritage and connection with the sea is apparent in the classic seasonal cuisine offered; diners may enjoy a more contemporary culinary experience in the stunning wine bar featuring tapas-style dining and an extensive selection of wines by the glass; tavern fare is offered in the atmospheric, award-winning Tap Room where lively music rings out nightly. Patio dining is an option May through October, weather permitting. Lunch and dinner served daily, Hunt Breakfast on Sunday.

By tradition the male family members get together near Christmas in various locations in Southern New England with the Griswold Inn being this year's location. Restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holiday with a plus being a quartet of carolers. After drinks being served, we ordered enough potato cakes. They were large enough that we started with half each and then everyone had a choice to take more. Very tasty. Our group mostly ordered Prime Rib of Beef and Fresh from the Hunt. Only negative was that my Prime Rib was only warm, but tasty. Service was excellent. Pricey in our opinion, but maybe not for their location.

We went with another couple to see the stores and have lunch. We enjoyed ourselves easily.

Service was very attentive, asking us for our drink order after we had been seated. The drinks were full sized, not large glasses with an equally large amount of ice, but two ounce servings.

We shared the potato pancakes and crab dip appetizers, and each had a clam chowder. Delicious.

We ordered Corned Beef Reuben, Fish and Chips, Turkey Club, and Scallops. All were large sized, and great.

Definetely will be back again.

The service was excellent. My chicken pot pie was as tasty as I have had in a long time. Plenty of chicken, good combination of veggies. The short ribs were good as well but served only with mashed potatoes. Another veg would have been nice. We were more than satisfied with our visit.

The have limited parking behind the inn. Street parking is limited as well. The inn is just a treasure to walk through.

Griswold Greetings and thanks so much for sharing your comments! We're glad you enjoyed a satisfying experience. Just to clarify for any potential visitor who may be reading this...We have two dedicated lots just across the street from the Inn. Street parking is often available within a short walking distance as well unless there is a special town event taking place. All parking is FREE! :) We hope you'll come back and visit again!

There were 5 in our party and we arrived around 1pm for lunch. The restaurant was mostly empty. Every step of the service was SLOW from drink orders onward. We ordered soups, quiche, salads, and sandwiches. Nothing complicated. The food was finally served after 2pm and only after we complained. Yes, the food was good when we got it. Our server never offered an apology for the slow service. When we left she was at the bar chatting with the other servers.
