“Blend of laidback mountain atmosphere and excellent food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent, tasty food. Especially enjoyed the apple and beet salad. My husband loved the lamb chops. Days before Valentines the place was packed. Reservations would have been in order, but our wait at the bar was highly enjoyable as well. Our server was friendly and informative. Perfect laidback mountain atmosphere and delicious food. We will certainly return to Sweet Basil.

“Great place to unwind with friends!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

We love Sweet Basil and have been coming for years. Our most recent visit was no exception. The kitchen is quite accommodating - splitting two entrees that my friend and I both wanted to try so we each had a bit of both. Everything was delicious. Try the Pumpkin Ravioli - an amazing treat for the palette!!! Service is great. It's a very popular place for skiers taking a mid-day break from the slopes.

“Delicious and Inventive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

The first thing we noticed when reading the menu was how complicated everything sounded. There seemed to be an awful lot of ingredients in each dish, and we thought it sounded like too much. Would all those things go well together? I can tell you now that the answer is YES! I started with blue lump crab cannelloni, and my husband started with a caesar salad (ok, so his wasn't that complicated, but it was excellent and came with several whole anchovies on top). My crab cannelloni had dollops of key lime sabayon and a streak of sweet basil puree on the plate, and when I tasted those elements on their own they tasted a bit overwhelming. But taken all together, it was incredibly delicious. For entrees, I had barramundi and my husband had lamb T-bones. The portions were generous, and the lamb in particular was amazing. It was served with a spicy harissa and a cool yogurt sauce and sweet medjool date paste that all went together in an amazing way. The pricing was high, but overall we felt that the food was worth it as a vacation splurge. The cocktails were crisp, fresh, and excellent too!

We were seated toward the back and were able to see out a wall of windows to a scenic creek area. It was very tranquil.
