Description: For more than 23 years Terra Bistro has been an essential dining destination for Vail Valley visitors, as well as a lasting favorite among locals. Chef Shawn Miller's adventurous approach to seasonal ingredients yields imaginative, carefully-crafted dishes and ever-changing menus. With a special focus on lighter fare, but with plenty of opportunity for indulgence, our menus naturally accommodate a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions, including gluten allergies and vegans. Accompanying our menus is our extensive wine list presented by our very talented in-house Sommelier. Additionally, we offer a variety Colorado craft beers and our specialty cocktails, inspired by Colorado spirits, are often a highlight of our guest's experience.

Perhaps it was too built up but our meal was not as great as we were told it would be. I can't deny it was a nice atmosphere. I'm not sure I would return except to go to the bar which seemed nice.

“Kale Chips”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

It was Valentine's so we splurged for a a more formal dinner. We were seated in the back dining room overlooking the snow falling in the woods and on the street, which was romantic. The atmosphere is good--families and couples, not too quiet or too loud. The service was very attentive....maybe too attentive, but no complaints. While the food was good and we liked the focus on healthy and fresh preparations of all dishes, the kale chips and bread stole the show. My dinner was sort of non-memorable, but not bad. I would recommend the fish dishes, which my husband had. One plus is that nothing was oversalted, a real complaint we have when dining out. So, no food hangover the next day. Overall, I would recommend this restauarant given the other limited options in Vail. If you wish to dine in the dining rooms, reservations are probably a must. There is a tableseide fireplace that you can request. If we were to return, most likely we'd opt for dining at the bar.

“Fantastic food! One of my favorites in Vail.”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

I have eaten here numerous times and it is always outstanding. The trout is the best I've ever eaten and I've eaten it all over Vail. The salads are unique and so fresh. I ordered the candy stripe beets and hazelnut encrusted goat cheese, yum. We had steak tartare with dehydrated "crispy" pickles. Wonderful. My husband has had the butter steak which is melt in your mouth tender. He tried the vegetarian pasta with goat cheese. He added chicken as he is not a vegetarian. It was fantastic. He even said it might be the best pasta dish he's ever had. That is a big compliment from my pasta loving husband. They make the pasta fresh in house. We also had the mascarpone cheesecake. Creamy delicious goodness. You must try this gem if you are in Vail. Definitely call for reservations.

“Hate to sound like a broken record but......”

........Terra Bistro is wonderful .

Ambience: nice, cozy , moderate noise level
Location: one block from the covered bridge in Vail Village, very convenient via intown shuttle
Service: very good
Food: excellent
* appetizers : artichoke gratinata , pork osso buco, quinoa cups
* entrees: signature trout (fabulous), fettuccine, peppered filet
* desserts: molten choc cake ( not very inventive but yummy just the same) and banana
chocolate tarte

Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. One warning: portions are quite large , u may want to share appetizers if u want to finish your entree ;)

Thank u Terra Bistro for a memorable meal in Vail !

“Rated number 1 for a reason”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

Fantastic fresh food, beautiful decor! We ordered breakfast off the menu but then took a look at the buffet. Although the made to order breakfast was amazing, the buffet looks equally as good. Fresh fruits, pastries and plenty of hot choices. Excellent and is included in the price of your room.
