Paul owns several apartments in the Thip Condotel Jomtien building (Soi 7) and this is arguably the best one (at least until until his latest purchase is fully fitted out.)
Being a double sized apartment it is fitted out as a living/dining/kitchen area plus a large bedroom together with spacious balcony complete with chairs and a table.
Both rooms have a tv and aircon units along with ceiling fans. The living area has well equipped kitchen designed for those who want to cook on a regular basis, a fridge freezer, microwave, hob and extractor plus all the pots pans cups etc that you would need to entertain a small party.
The living area includes a good size dining table. chairs, sofa and armchairs with masses of storage space via the custom made wooden cupboards. All in very good condition.
The bedroom sports a kingsize bed that was very comfy with no soft spots, cupboards and a walk in wardrobe which held amongst other things a safe, again a huge amount of storage space but it did not feel intrusive.
The bathroom consisted of a wash basin with mirror and WC with an open door to the shower area which had an electric shower which worked well and had good pressure despite being on the top floor. All seemed very well maintained with many fittings in wood,
perhaps a towel rail in the shower area would be useful. as well as by the basin.
The condo is rented on the basis of room only with extras to be charged separately, i.e internet, cleaning, water and the big one - electricity. This is the first time I have rented a condo on this basis and so I was a little nervous about the likely costs post departure. Paul will take a reading at the start of the rental and if you ask will keep you up to date with the electricity and water usage during your stay.
For info each kWh costs 6thb and each aircon unit consumes up to 3kW.
The building also sports a spacious 4th floor pool which on this visit never felt busy.
Pattaya has many many condos for rent and it would be fair to say that Thip Condotel is not the newest building in the area but despite that its location (centre of the Jomtien bar and shopping areas and close to the beach) fit and finish, friendly owners and value for money means that I would have to think very hard before I consider a different accommodation supplier in Pattaya.
