“Naked Fun”
Reviewed 18 October 2009

Good looking naked women flauting their wares, everywhere. I've met celebrities here. This is the primo best kept secret in the west. And, yes, I agree that Steamboat is great, too. Both places get buck wild along with the springs in the San Luis Valley.

“Great water, good accommodations and friendly staff..and great value”
Reviewed 21 April 2009

We live in a town with several hot springs resorts and we chose to drive 3 hours to try out Orvis at a friend's recommendation. We are delighted that we did. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the pools are varied in temperature and the whole operation says that the owners care a lot for the place and their guests. Indeed the property was originally in the Orvis family 80+ years ago, and was sold by their great granfather. The family recently bought it back and the pride shows. They maintain an atmosphere of quiet, but no one gets angry if a child laughs or has a bit of fun. Clothing optional adults and suited families coexist very comfortably. We will make this a pilgrimage at least twice a year.

“Well worth a 5 hour drive from Denver”
Reviewed 25 February 2009

We love this place! We've been twice--once in the winter and once in the summer and loved it both seasons. The grounds/gardens are absolutely lovely and the water is wonderful. There are temperatures and depths for everyone. I enjoyed a top notch massage last trip and will do so again. The people are low-key and friendly. Naturist or not both should be comfortable here.

“A relaxing retreat!”
Reviewed 31 March 2008

While staying in Ouray, CO, my boyfriend and I discovered Orvis Hot Springs. We were talking about the Ouray Hot Springs Pool (which looks like a huge public pool) with the owner of the hotel we were staying in. We asked if there were any other more natural looking hot springs in the area. She informed us of Orvis and then "warned" us in a low voice, "but its clothing optional..." We were not scared away by this, so we decided to check it out. Although the pools were manmade, they appeared natural with stones and slate. They do not add chemicals to the water (the Ouray one adds chlorine). There were a variety of soaking ponds, we tried every one. It was so great to soak for a few hours at the end of a long day of hiking/snowshoeing and sightseeing. So good in fact, that we went back the next night too! For those unfamiliar with clothing optional places, you do not have to be naked. No one will make fun of you for wearing a bathing suit. There is on indoor pool (also natural looking with a waterfall and low lighting) that requires a bathing suit. I recommend bringing a robe if you have one...we didn't but we had wished we had brought one. Also, you can bring food (no glass, no alcohol) and use the kitchen and fridge. I think there are BBQ grills too for use.
