You arrive to an unsightly outdoor carpet and an unfinished fountain that does not work, and move into a very slow check-in, but a super friendly front desk staff. We were checked in at a side office by a Clarion headquarters representative, who is responsible for a one year, badly needed renovation. We were very impressed y his honesty and friendly personality. This 70 year old man had to haul bags up stairs because we could not find an elevator. There were no signs of one. Upon entering the building there is a loose old door handle almost falling off and a terrible smell... can't wait to get to our room! The room was clean, large, fairly quiet with a comfortable bed. The chairs were dirty and ancient. One is a few sittings away from falling apart. The 25-30 year old TV had 2-3 channels that came in at 75%. Want to watch TV?... go to the bar that looks dumpy and serves terrible pizza. However, the prices were moderate like the interior. Breakfast was lousy. They are trying. We left and went next door to Dunkin Donuts. Bottom Line.... you get what you pay for! Give this place another year and I bet it will be great... but not now. Clarion should be ashamed. Who has been watching this property!!!

Dear emerald515,

Where to start indeed??!! I know that the property is old...that's why the rates are half of what they should be. If you spoke to me about remodeling, then you also know the whole story, so I take umbrage at your review.

Let's review your passive aggressive review one issue at a time.

*Our outdoor carpets are changed weekly by a vendor...they are open-air, so they tend to pick up the daily grime but rest assured we vacuum them daily and get "fresh" ones delivered weekly.

*Our fountain was off for four days due to a cleaning it receives every four months due to algae collection and other issues that plague a fountain that sits in a climate where the temperature changes 35-40 degrees in a 24 hour period.

*We have strong & healthy housemen on duty 16 hours a day to assist with luggage, etc. if needed. I'm the oldest one here and not close to 70 years old, and I can't recall a guest looking for an elevator because we don't have one. The hotel is two stories, and people walk to the second one.

*Not sure when you stayed, but lately we've had fires and a few hail storms in the area that affects the Comcast service. We have no control over the weather and how it affects channels. Some of our TVs are not newer flat screen, but 36" Motorola color sets all work perfectly for their age (10-15yrs). We are in the process of replacement, but they work fine when the Comcast signal is unimpaired.

*Again, some people leave a review late but it seems like you might have spoken to me. The bar is a bar...dumpy by comparison to 4 & 5 Star hotels but certainly not for what you paid. It's a pleasant lounge with over 80 choices of alcohol, 14 choices of bottled beer and 6 beers on tap. There are also two pool tables & an outside patio for smokers. NOW our PIzza is handmade...hand tossed & excellent. Never a complaint from anyone till you. But the overall nature of your review and attitude leads me to believe you probably arrived unhappy.

*The Breakfast like our Pizza and our other food is what every NORMAL person that stays here raves about. We use ALL fresh ingredients...we crack over 30 dozen eggs with pasteurized shells every morning for Fritatta, scrambled eggs. Our Green Chile is homemade nightly and our biscuits are made and proofed the night before. The ONLY item we do not make from scratch is our hash browns BUT know that is you order a hamburger 30 minutes before you order it your french fries were still a fresh potato.

You close your property insult with the phrase; "you get what you pay for." with that said I don't get the litany of complaints you hurled??!! We are an old property that is clean, safe (security 24 hours) and the food is great. We are undergoing a mandated remodel and you are right it will be beautiful next year but at $149-$169 you might choose to get what you pay for somewhere else.

Happy Trails,
Paul

Dear Thomas B,

Thanks for giving the "old place" a shot :) We are old but we pride ourselves in keeping everything clean and keeping the food great. We're very appreciative of you taking notice. We will be beginning a major remodel starting in September 2018 so keep you eyes out for a "brand new" Clarion next year.

Safe travels,
Paul

Dear djcharles33,

Your accolades have been shared with the staff. It's always a pleasure to know that the efforts of everyone to make your stay memorable are recognized. We are an older property (soon to go under a major renovation) and that gives us all the incentive to go above and beyond with making sure all of our guests are comfortable and well cared for.

We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Pueblo.

Happy Trails,
Paul

MrColorado,

We had several grad parties over the last two weeks and I can't for sure to give you a personal thank you...but every parent I had visit the property during graduations were exceptional. As a father myself I could see the love and admiration of all the parents.

I'm happy that we were able to live up to your expectations and that our great staff was hitting their marks to assist.

From our family here to your family...

Thank you!
