The hotel is clearly showing its age; but, is clean, comfortable, and the smallest rooms are half the price of the name-brand hotels in the area. Overall, we are glad we chose the Dillon Motel.

Our favorite part was meeting one of the employees. He made us feel comfortable and welcome. He also introduced us to his wildlife friends which were fun to watch.

The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They were kind enough to allow us to check in late. When we arrived, we found that the last guests had smoked in our non-smoking room, and the staff were willing to find another room for us at the late hour.

We had booked the small cabin, but ended up with the large family suite --- a great fit for our family of four.

I liked that the pool has an 8' section. I'm 6'4" and appreciate hotels with pools deeper than the standard 5'. (Unfortunately, it was an usually cold week for August, and the outdoor pool was quite cold.)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found it to be a very good value.

Room Tip: Rooms are older but fine.

Smaller room and bathroom. It had a microwave and mini fridge. Friendly staff. If you are wanting a 5 star hotel, this is not the place for you. The bed could use a new mattress. If you want an affordable night's rest in Manitou Springs, check it out! Note, the pool was not open yet during our stay.

George, the previous owner was the main reason people stayed at this motel. We knew George and his now deceased wife Joanne for too many years to count. They both had a way of making each guest feel special, and that was what made staying with them so enjoyable. It was also very family friendly. George has recently retired and left the area. The motel is now under new ownership and it seems to have lost its spark. It is now openly friendly to marijuana users. It is Colorado, after all, but it seems to have lost its friendly family vibe. The maintenance guy and housekeepers are still wonderful, but the new owners are lacking in hospitality. People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel. We can no longer recommend staying at this motel and will be looking for another place to stay when we are in the area next year.

End of an era indeed. We are not George, and if you are coming here solely to spend your days chatting with us, you will not be happy here. We've put our energy into upgrades and other improvements, which we believe will benefit all our guests regardless of age or history with the motel. We have attempted to extend courtesy to those with relationships with previous owner, which we did with you by giving you a $20/day discount on our regular rate.

Many of our guests are delighted to find a 420-friendly motel that provides a safe, legal, and inviting environment for people to enjoy their Colorado vacation.

We appreciate that you miss the way things used to be, but we don't believe that your one-star review accurately reflects the fact that you were in a clean and comfortable non-smoking room, about which you seemed to have no complaints during your four-day visit.

We offer clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation in a professional environment. Many guests are looking for precisely this. We are sorry this was not the case for you.

Smallish older motel style rooms with microwaves, mini fridge and tv's. Free cowboy coffee in the morning and chats with owner George. Has a nice pool, easy access to Manitou Springs. Very reasonable price for the accommodations. I would recommend if you aren't too picky on how soft your mattress is.

Thank you very much for your stay. I try very hard to please our guests. My Grand Patents built our motel in 1947 and many people come back year after year for a step back in time. Our housekeeping people have worked here for a number of years. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and Manitou Springs.
