This inn could be a great one. The main floor is inviting and offers a feeling of a historic inn. But the guest rooms a total disappointment especially for the price. 500+ for 2 nights. The room needed to to totally redecorated with the history of the inn in mind -- new carpet ( carpet was buckling) or wood flooring , the bathrooms and light fixtures updated. Get rid of the ugly fake flowers and the 80s ceiling fans. Beds need night stands and lamps. And furniture needs to be period pieces. Offer more than granola bars and apples for breakfast if you say breakfast is available. And buy new TVs or no TVs. We stayed at a period inn in NH for less $$$ which included a great breakfast and an afternoon tea and coffee 24/7. It makes me sad to think what this place could be with some investment of thought ,time and money. This is truly a part of Colorado's history.

This Inn is a quaint little place tucked out of the way in Evergreen, CO. It is a wonderful place to get away and spend some quality time with your friends and/or significant other. I spent a long weekend here reconnecting with old friends and enjoyed myself a great deal. This isn't some huge resort, just a place where you can spend the night, hang out at the bar or outside patio and grab food at the restaurant or in the bar. I enjoyed every meal I got over the weekend, even when the service was a little slow, but one doesn't notice this as much when they are enjoying themselves and their company. If you want to have a romantic retreat, I would highly recommend this Inn. Just be sure to select one of the rooms with a spa tub. If you don't have a good time it will only be your fault. Enjoy!

As always, happy brainstorming and safe travels -
Jon from travelbrainstorm.com

Room Tip: I would ask for one with a spa tub

We stayed overnight at the Brook Forest Inn. Soon after arriving, we went to the bar for a drink. The bar wasn't very full, and there were several wait staff around, but it took 15 minutes for someone to come take our order. At the time we ordered, I also requested that the table be cleaned. We sat another 15 minutes, and our order hadn't arrived yet. We walked out of the bar - our patience ran out after 30 minutes of being at the bar and not having a drink. And when we left, the table still hadn't been cleaned.

Husband and I stayed for a couple days to celebrate our anniversary and birthday. We had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The inn was easy to find, our room was clean and cozy. The staff was very pleasant and helpful but respected your privacy as well. The only thing we missed was a coffee pot in the room. They did have coffee available in the cold breakfast area which consisted of different cereals, muffins, toast, and doughnuts. Their isn't much cell coverage but enough to text and there is wifi although a little spotty- which was fine because it's nice to disconnect. We had pizza one evening and it was delicious. The bar had entertainment and it was nice to stay in and enjoy live music. We would stay here again.

this review is based on a dinning experience only, not an overnite stay. service was a bit slow but ok as we weren't in any rush. food came out as ordered.waitresses were attentive to our needs, very nice old world setting. the bar had a nice local crowd, with live music. a nice wine selection,a little something for everyone. what was really nice is the owner came out to check on us to make sure everything was ok. maybe not for everyone, but if you don't want the crowded downtown evergreen, you should give this a try, a bit out of the way but well worth the trip, actually not far from town at all.
