We recently stayed at the Wyndham Durango for two nights during a family trip to take the Polar Express train ride. The rooms are large and well maintained, with a separate living area and kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the sofa in the living room had a queen pull out bed. The staff was very informative and friendly during our stay. I would definitely recommend staying at the Wyndham Durango if you’re visiting Durango and looking for a place to stay near the train station, restaurants and shopping.

The Wyndham Durango is a great place to stay while in Durango, Colorado. It is in a perfect location, within walking distance of the Durango Train Station and Main Street. There are great views of the mountains and the train station from some of the rooms. We saw beautiful sunsets from our balcony. Free parking is provided right next to the building. The rooms have recently been updated with new furnishings and kitchen appliances. The kitchen includes a stove, oven, microwave, full refrigerator, coffee maker and garbage disposal. There is a self service laundromat on the first floor. Free laundry soap powder is provided at the front desk. Speaking of the front desk, all of the people who work at the front desk are very helpful and nice. Free donuts are provided on Wednesday mornings in the lobby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level where the balcony overooks the mountains and the train station.

Wonderful facility. So nice to have room to relax in after some adventurous days. Literally around the corner from train & very easy to walk to all the attractions in town. Nice relaxing balcony & staff couldn't be any nicer.

Had a great 3 night stay a few weeks ago in Durango. All of the staff members were extremely nice and accommodating, especially James. At check-in, when my husband mentioned we'd prefer a more tucked-away location, James found us a an end room on the corner overlooking the train depot. Such a perfect spot. We really enjoyed having meals out on our balcony and getting to see the Durango-Silverton trains depart and return each day. When we inquired how to go about catching the train for our early morning reservations the next day, he practically walked us there. When we needed to borrow umbrellas for pop-up thunderstorms on 2 of our 3 evenings, James came through for us again. When we were in need of a cookie sheet - again, James was there for us, too. Upon mentioning to another staff member how much I liked their magnifying bathroom mirror, she went to the trouble of going to their stock room and collected all the info required to order one for myself. Wished I had caught her name at the time. I hope the resort manager (Kristine Carll?) reads TripAdvisor's reviews and is aware of what a terrific team she has working for her. Thank you for making our time in Durango so enjoyable!

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel has units rather than rooms - the units contain a sitting area with comprehensive kitchen (including fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cooker and oven), bedroom and bathroom. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the baths have whirlpools. There is no restaurant in the hotel as it seems to be aimed at long-stay self-catering visitors. There is a pool in the neighbouring hotel which is available to Wyndham guests. Locationwise, the hotel is very close indeed to the steam train station, just a three minute walk. The main part of town is within easy reach too. For breakfast there is a fabulous place which does homemade bagels just near the station. My only gripe was the wifi which frequently disconnects and is unreliable, for which I have removed a star from what would otherwise be a four-star review.
