I don't know why the bad reviews... I stayed here 2 or 3 times over the summer, and it was great!!! Got a little Kampin Kabin - 2 bunk beds and a queen. There is a lot to do in the summer for the kids - wagon rides - Ice Cream Socials - "Duck Races" - movies - Pancake Breakfasts - and they sell Pizza. They deliver to your site also - pizza, wood, etc... And, the pizza was one of the best I've had in a long time - an over abundance on cheese... Yum.

The restrooms are very clean - the pool is a little cool but it's okay.. The game room is a bit small - but hardly anyone goes there. I was very impressed -

After Labor Day - there are no activities, but I still had a great time - it was much quieter - a bit cooler in the evenings but very relaxing...

We stayed here just after the Labor Day holiday after riding the Durango train. Forced to stay in a hotel before the train ride because this KOA required a multiple-night stay on the actual holiday weekend, we camped on the way home to save some cash.

This campground is located a stone's throw from the busy highway leading east out of Durango, and unfortunately on a steepening grade so campers can hear all the big engines revving to make it up the hill and all the brakes on the big rigs heading downhill toward town. We were placed in this site even with the very explicit request to be in a quiet site.

Don't stay here.

Oh, and it's quite expensive for what you get. The pool opens late in the morning so we didn't even get to give it a try. (Though it's two times the size of the pool at the expensive hotel we used on the other end of the trip.)

I have never felt so cramped in my life. The tent sites are on top of each other and are unbelievably tiny, but their website claims they have spacious and privacy. What a joke. If this is the #5 best KOA, then I will only stay at #'s 1-4. Oh, and their idea of woodsy are a few trees and alot of shrubs
