“Bike nirvana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2012

The entire path is really long. My favorite part of it begins at the Cherry Creek shopping center and goes all the way to Confluence Park (where REI and Starbucks are conveniently located). So at the halfway point of this 12 mile section is a good place to take a break, watch folks play with their dogs, or just watch the other bikers go by.

“Great path for running”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

Nice flat, long path following the river. Lots of foot and bike traffic, which was nice to make an out of towner feel safe. There were some groups of homeless along the way, so not sure I would have gone early in the morning. But, late in the afternoon, there were so many other people using the trail, it was fine.

“Great urban bike path”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

The Cherry Creek Bike path is a great way to see several different neighborhoods of Denver. It runs right past downtown but also gives direct access to cherry creek and the highlands neighborhoods. While bike and pedestrian traffic is usually high everyone seems to share the path well. It is OK for a slow mving family on bikes as well as elite riders looking to get in a ride by linking to the other trails around Denver. If you are riding for a workout, just be aware that you will need to slow down between REI (Confluence Park) and the Cherry Creek Mall. Speeds pick back up and crowds diminsih ouitside this stretch. Also be aware of construction that has detoured the route near Denver Country Club this spring 2012.

“Excellent Resource But Stay Alert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

The Cherry Creek bike path is a great resource for Denver - especially now that the rental bike program is flourishing. You can cover a lot of beautiful territory on the path, largely without competing with cars. But, if you plan on dawdling along to enjoy the views and just being outdoors plan the timing of your ride (or, heaven forbid, walk) carefully. Parts of this path are used heavily by 'bike-warriors' to commute to and from work and to stay buff and they don't suffer what they consider to be 'ess focused bikers gracefully. But, if you have some sort of rear-view mirror you'll be able to share the path in harmony and spare yourself the withering glances of spandex-clad speedsters as they zoom by you.
