In January, 2012 I attended a speech by the governor. As always, the Capitol is beautiful inside. There are guided tours every 1/2 hour during the week. Guides take people to places in the building; and point out unusual characteristics of the building. If not with a guide; it is o.k. to explore on your own. The cupola on the 4th floor is like the State's attic. It is accessed by a narrow starcase in the northwest corner of the building. Ask a guide or guard to point this out. It is worth the climb.
Parts of the Capitol building are under repair at this time. Be aware that some areas might be closed for the moment.
