What a truly fantastic hotel! Great location in the theater district, within walking distance to Larimer Square and the 16th Street Mall. Hotel staff is friendly and highly competent. Interior decor is the right mix of old world style with new and shiny everything from bathroom fixtures to bed pillows, closet hangars, and hallway lights. Though valet parking is expensive, it is worth the $29/day because they give you free access to your car whenever you need it. Parking structure close by charges $19 every time you go in and metered street parking is very tricky since Denver is huge on giving out parking tickets. Room on the eight floor had view of Four Seasons across the street but the inside was super clean and comfortable. Complimentary ride to within two miles of the hotel also gives another option for those with no car, since that takes you a long ways around the downtown Denver area. Valets are knowledgeable about the city and how best to get around, volunteering maps and walking routes for newcomers at all times. Attentive service and boutique feel distinguishes this hotel from many other high end options in the area.

Room Tip: Staircase and elevators are located centrally in hotel so there is no room too far from access point...

I have always wanted to stay at Hotel Teatro and finally got the opportunity for my birthday this June. What a memorable experience! Every single person I encountered was warm, gracious and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely and very classy. I enjoyed the beautiful decor of the hotel and my room, as well as the gorgeous view of downtown Denver. The hotel is central to all the best restaurants and shops in Denver. I definitely recommend staying at Hotel Teatro. I hope to stay there again soon.

After staying at the Oxford hotel the night before my expectations were high. It would be tough to top my experience there but I'd give it a shot. The hotel is down in the theater district. I chose the hotel because there was a play that I wanted to see. The theater was a block from my hotel.
But I digress.
The hotel and my room lived up to my expectations. I had a 9th floor Queen with Balcony. Though room was small you couldn't beat the balcony overlooking downtown Denver. Left the outdoor balcony open just to enjoy the air and sounds from the street eminating from below.
Bed was fantastic. Since I am a chimney, to be able to go out and have smoke on your balcony instead of going down to the lobby and outside was fantastic. You can keep those typical chain hotels that don't have windows that open.
Definitely enjoyed my stay at the hotel.
My only recommendation would be to put out a bench in front of the hotel where if you do smoke (I know, a dinosaur) you could sit. Other than that my hotel stay there was excellent.

Room Tip: If your a smoker the 9th floor rooms are where you need to be. Views are good and you realize why yo...

This hotel was a nice suprise my wife booked for me. It is centrally located for my running around in Denver, Aurora and Arvada. It is very nice and the staff are top notch. My only complaint is the parking issue. It cost $29 a day for valet parking. The only other option is a parking structure to the East and that is stil $19 a day. Other than that it is beautiful and very comfortable. The bed is the best I've slept on ever!

I stayed at the Hotel Teatro on Fri & Sat nights recently. The hotel is a beautiful property, the building was originally the HQ of a mining company, and it fell into disrepair but someone bought the building (which had great bones) and rennovated it, turning it into this very nice hotel. It's on 14th Street between the Theater District and Larimer Street, which has lots of interesting and fun restaurants. The rooms are very nice, well appointed, and the bathrooms are first rate. There is a very nice restaurant off the lobby---Kevin Taylor, which is pricy but has very good food.

The problem is that on the weekends, people leave the restaurants and bars and walk up 14th to get to the light rail stop and they feel some inescapable need to scream, loudly and often. I was on the 8th floor, and any time I woke up before 3 AM I would hear the sounds of the houligans and the lower classes as they bellowed their way down the street. Then, later in the early morning, came the beep-beep-beep of the back-up warning horns of the garbage trucks as they came to get the dumpsters before the street got busy. All in all, a sad commentary on modern life, but a reality in this particular location.

What to do? Stay here during the week, when the louts aren't out, but avoid it on Fri/Sat when the bars are full.

Room Tip: Demand a room on a high floor, and away from 14th street if possible.
