We were a group of 12 adults who decided to go here to celebrate my birthday. We found the listing online and spoke to the sales representative in Delhi, Ashad (Ananya Hotels). We clarified our reason to visit and he promised us a private area to party with music and chatter. He also promised that our food will be provided to us at this location. It all sounded awesome and we reached this rustic property around 2/2:30 in the afternoon as we were driving from Delhi.
At first, on reaching there, we were given terrible service since they kept reminding us how every request of ours is "chargeable". Even if we wanted tea (which was a complimentary part of the package) served at our promised "private area" (which btw was being shared by ALL the other hotel guests), we were asked to PAY. This was just the beginning since everything here after was apparently "chargeable" even after paying for it in the room tariffs. Then, came evening/ early night around 8pm, we played some light music since we were there to celebrate a birthday and had made that ample clear to begin with. Around 11pm, we had the hotel staff come to ask asking us to reduce the volume of the music since the guests were getting agitated. We understood so we reduced it to a bare minimum (barely at about a volume of 3 on Alexa) and continued to sit by the bonfire chit-chatting. Now, all a sudden, we have a hotel guest who came and said he is getting disturbed and that he paid for a tranquil experience at Mud Fort and that we were spoiling it for him. While we empathized with him, the fact remained that we had paid for an experience as well and this guest did not seem to find a middle ground with us. By then it was already midnight and the Hotel Manager came and shouted at us demanding that we close the music immediately (which by the way at this point was so low that we ourselves couldn't hear it) and started misbehaving with us by screaming, shouting and fighting. We were a group of 6 men and 6 women and he along with another hotel staff started recording a view of the entire episode. When we told them to stop recording immediately, they blatantly lied to us saying they didn't have any video (which was later found in their phone gallery when we pressed them to show it to us.). Obviously our birthday party went for a toss. To top it all over, the man who we booked the rooms through, Ashad, called us at 1am shouting at us and being absolutely rude. This torture didn't end here, btw.. Because the owner of the hotel finally decided to come and shout and "order" us to leave the hotel premises immediately. He was adamant and continued to harass us. Leaving in the middle of the night was obviously not an option since the roads were risky and unsafe for us to travel on in the night and we did not wish to get robbed or kidnapped!
Eventually, things settled down and they made us sign a document saying that we are all safe in the hotel and that was the only way for us to continue to stay at the property for the rest of the night. These people seemed like they are far far from the hospitality industry and the entire experience was an absolute absolute waste! If you do decide to go here,
I wish you al the best and hope that you come back with a better experience than my group and I did.
