Walking into my room, I felt a little nervous. The decor transported me back to the basic mid-budget hotel rooms of 1989: popcorn ceilings, gold coverlet on the bed, dated wall sconce lights on the wall. The rooms don't have a nice view, the locale is nestled among a fast food restaurant, quick-mart and radiator repair shop.
After two nights here, I can happily say that my apprehension was alleviated with my room's cleanliness, quiet and comfort. Every employee I met from check-in, through replacement of my lost key, through checkout was helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast had something for everyone, and the location does have some advantages: it's right across the street from a brand new Target shopping center that includes some mid-priced family friendly restaurants. There is a traffic light that makes getting into and out of the hotel safe and convenient with instant access to I-25.
If ambiance and style are must haves for you, this isn't your place. If a clean, comfortable base station with efficient and friendly staff suits for your travel needs, then you will be delighted with your stay.
Also, I was happily able to obtain a rate that was in government per diem - a requirement for travel in my company.More
