“Breathtaking, Watch out for Bears”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

A beautiful park. Lots of hiking trails (they really do close some areas during the year due to bears). Hike to the base of the Flatirons or up to the Royal Arch. Great history and good food at the Dining Hall. Summer concerts at the Auditorium most nights (park is free, concerts not)

“Many hiking trails start from here, picnic area is great, concerts too!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

Must do a hike out of this park... or if you are not the hiking type, bring a frisbee or baseball and a picnic. We even play bocce there. There are often concerts. Many folks sit outside the concert hall in the grass and listen to the music that drifts out... but watch out.. parking is hard on concert nights. If you are a hiker... you MUST do a hike from here. Ranger station at the park will direct you.

“Hiking paths get crowded”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

This area is very beautiful with nice hiking trails of various lengths and difficulties. Since it is located in Boulder, nearby the university and housing complexes, it serves as main outdoor walking place. The trails are well maintained, the small map is usually provided at the trailhead. You will find lots of nice views of the Flatirons, Boulder, plains and many fellow hikers, many people walking their dogs. Very nice place to get some morning and afternoon exercise, not so nice if you are looking for a peaceful hideaway on the trail.

“Quality Entertainment, like in the Old Days”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2012

This place has permanent buildings which includes small houses to rent, as well as big buildings for quality concerts, old-time movies, and more. Reasonable tickets and free parking. And there's an excellent trail you can take near the parking lot; and a great restaurant in an elegant old white bldg.
