This is a phrase we heard many times in Tamara. More importantly, that commitment was invariably delivered in high quality, enthusiastic service.
We are two senior citizens over 70 years old visiting Tamara with our US based daughter. Would it be possible for us to have 2 cottages reasonably close to the restaurant so we could walk there? Yes, it is possible. My wife’s digestion is very delicate. She cannot eat anything with chillies, garam masala and pepper, lentils, salt, more than a touch of oil. Can something be cooked for her? Yes, it can. The staff took exceptional care to ensure she enjoyed a range of specially crafted Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Every resort has a special beauty. Tamara, nestled within a coffee plantation, sheltered by tall trees, is surrounded by colourful Hibiscus, Lilies, Anthuriums, Angel’s Trumpets, Birds of Paradise and, most beautiful of all, the scarlet Ginger Torch. The cottages are five star standard, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills. One can take long walks within the property which stretches over three levels of beauty, serenity and quietude. There are plantation walks, treks, guided yoga sessions, tennis and a heated pool to satisfy the more athletic.
Every hotel delivers hospitality. A resort like Tamara has to deliver the special experience of a special place which remains with one as a happy memory. Such an experience can be delivered only by people. The people of Tamara, from the General Manager to the staff at Reception, Housekeeping and Security; the Chef and staff at the restaurant; were professional, prompt, friendly, and enthusiastic in anticipating our needs and responding to them. One could sense they were happy doing what they were doing. We would like thank every one of them. We mention here only the persons with whom we came into contact. Shan, Dinesh and Sandeep in the restaurant who really went out of their way for us. Dinesh took the care to plan every meal in advance with her. Preethy and Lakhrani at Reception who arranged everything for us. Somanna at the Verandah who showed us the uniqueness of each of the trees and flowers in the plantation tour. Prashant, who enlightened us about Yoga and Meditation. We especially liked the idea of allowing each guest to plant a sapling as a reminder of a happy visit. We planted two saplings and, hopefully, we will return.
