I go to Spring every day, rain or shine to walk my dogs. The trail around the lake is about 2.5 miles with additional trails if you want. The only knock.....most of the area around the lake is overgrown with blackberry's. Apparently the Parks folks can't or won't do anything about that issue.

Spring Lake is a beautiful Sonoma County park. Walking trails: both paved and dirt/gravel. Great for walking, hiking, etc. Paved path connects to Howarth, gravel & dirt paths connect to Annadel State Park. Spring Lake offers picnic areas, fishing, paddle boats & kayaks. There is a swimming lagoon open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Besides being a great place for picnics we love riding our bikes or walking around the lake. Early mornings and fall days are the best!

Spring Lake park boasts multiple trails which are suitable for hiking, biking and equestrians. There are also multiple picnic areas, camping facilities, a "swimming hole", and other entertainment options. I prefer exploring the park by roaming the trails. You have your choice of well-groomed trails as well as more challenging terrain. Views of the surrounding hills and Spring Lake make the trails scenic. I often encounter wildlife while hiking (deer, birds, reptiles, etc.)

We visited the children's play area and found it clean, well-attended with other families, and with interesting infrastructure. Walk up the hill a bit and you can visit the resident calf, goat, and pig all attended to by young teenagers.
Parking is no problem if you get there early enough. The park is amazing in that it offers virtually everything including boating, swimming, walking trails, tennis, picnicking areas with barbecue pits, etc. This is a jewel in Santa Rosa!
