In general, a fantastic experience with the Viceroy Hotel. Working closely with Sophie, we planned our wedding reception and multi-night stay for ourselves and a handful of guests.

The hotel: Very "Santa Monica/LA" - posh environment, very professional and respectable guest service. Most of our guests were greeted with a flute of Champagne upon arrival. We had a suite and was very nice. Fantastic marble bathroom, open shower area. We had a great view of the beautiful Pacific and beach. [--]

Food: Really well thought out menu that they continually refine and change. Chef adds very artistic, delectable twists on many common items. Great presentation. (for our wedding reception (30 guests), they accommodated us easily with tasting prior to, and a mixed variety of chosen menu items. Very timely and courteous rotation of plates.)

Drinks: Great beer selection, and great drinks. Made us a 'special' drink for our celebration - A pink Russian. Again, very good service.

Wedding-Specific: (30-guest wedding, so small group) They worked with us - and our wedding planner ( @ErinAdamsEvents ) and many guests had said this was the best wedding they've ever been to. The Viceroy and Sophie had set us up on the raised patio in their 'prefect' and lush terrace. The evening environment and DJ set was a true experience for everyone. A very VIP crowd that place draws in the evening.

My wife and I will be back for our anniversary. Thank you.

Overall, I enjoyed the Viceroy Hotel located on Ocean Ave. Great location to shopping and North LA. The rooms were well appointed and nice touches that you would expect in this price range. Reception was fast and a nice touch of a glass of sparkling water or champagne was welcomed. I loved the back pool and dinning area. Great for business team meetings and wonderful garden and splash pool, ( however not sure why there were two). The bar and restaurant were very nice and service was excellent.

The hotel walls are thin, so if you are bothered by voices next door, bring ear plugs. The ocean side rooms are great for the view, but are loud due to traffic. The garden side rooms are much better for noise.

There were some maintenance issues, a loose floor tile in the bathroom and toilet seat that was about to slide off of the bowl. Both were fixed the morning that I checked out after I alerted the front desk. The foyer near the elevators was too dark and a little "spooky" as it took time for your eyes to adjust.

The Palisades Park pedestrian trail and San Vicente Blvd are great for stroll or run. If you are feeling extra peppy, try the stair climb off of 4th and Adelaide St., burn baby burn.

A wonderful place for a short business trip or get-a-way weekend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m glad to hear that you had such a wonderful time and that you enjoyed the extra touches that we’ve become known for. I also wanted to apologize that your room had a loose tile, but glad to learn that the colleagues were able to fix it immediately. I am also pleased to share that we recently adjusted the lighting on the guest floors which make the hallways brighter. I also think that your recommendation of using the famous Santa Monica stairs for an extra work out is so much fun. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Viceroy!

Pro`s: very luxurious hotel, great staff, good location. Con`s: Indeed, there is too much noise at night in and around the hotel, from parties near the swimming pool (also at weekdays). Paying a lot of money for this hotel, the least you would expect is a good night of sleep. Unfortunately this was not possible during our stay. Another disappointment was the food in this hotel: expensive and poor quality. The lunch menu is ok, but would not advice to go here for a dinner.

We stayed at the Viceroy on the first stop of our honeymoon road trip through California this September. I hadn't been sure the hotel would be right for us, due to some mixed reviews I had read, but as it turned out we absolutely loved it!

After a long day travelling from the UK, we arrived at night time and were offered a glass of champagne whilst checking in, which was very nice! The lady who checked us in was really helpful and friendly, and told us we'd had our room upgraded to an ocean-view suite (even better!) The hotel had left us a bottle of wine, chocolate covered strawberries and a really nice note in our room to welcome us - so all in all a great start to the holiday!

Our suite was just gorgeous - we loved the decor, the view of the beach just across the road and the huge, comfy bed! The bathroom was also amazing. We couldn't fault anything about it!

The hotel itself is amazing, like something from a film set and while the bad weather meant that we didn't get to use the beautiful pool during the day, we did have drinks sat outside at night, which was lovely. My husband also loved the fitness centre, which was much nicer than usual hotel gyms.

The hotel is definately a trendy place and we weren't sure it would suit us (we aren't supermodel types!) but we experienced no snottiness at all during our stay - the staff were all genuinely friendly and charming.

We loved the location of the hotel, just across the road from the beach and a short walk to the pier and Third Street Promenade. The area felt really relaxed and safe and there were some lovely restaurants within a 10 min walk (and a really cute place for breakfast across the road - great pancakes!)

The only negative about the hotel is that we found the valet-only parking a bit annoying and it would add on a hefty amount to the bill if you were staying more than a couple of days.

But we loved our stay at the Viceroy and actually didn't want to leave. If we find ourselves in the LA area again, I would love to go back!

This is an outstanding hotel. Not far from the centre of Santa Monica, or a long(ish) walk
to Venice Beach, the location is perfect.
The Staff are all very good at their jobs and more importantly they like their jobs, this reflects in their attitude.
The food in the restaurant is good, with a great bar scene later on in the evening.
Beds are very comfy and I slept very well. (The double glazing works well)
