We had a 24hr layover in LA so we decided to hit some of the popular spots with the pier being on of them. The pier was honestly a disappointment. It ended up just being an overcrowded dirty tourist attraction with nothing really memorable about it.

We went there at the evening around 11 pm and the pier got closed. The restaurans are insanly expensive and not worth the money. the parking is far and cost around 2 dollars an hour

This was our family’s first trip to LA and the Santa Monica Pier was our first stop. We had an amazing time! Live music, lots of street performers, plenty of vendors, and breathtaking scenery!! Would highly recommend!!

Visited in oct 2018, its nothing too special, but its good to see the place you see on TV and Movies. Its a place you need to see and visit once, but after that nothing special. Its very touristy. The hot dog on a stick place near by is good. Great place to people watch.

Spent few hours here. There is parking but must pay meters. Ate at a restaurant after watching the sunset. What a beauty to watch. We did walk in the pier. Reminded me of Coney Island. Rides for kids.

Neat place to visit, eat and people watch. Even had the Zoltan that looked like it was from the movie Big.

Stopped in la for a few nights rented a bike explored the pier go to the end for great views and good food. Pick yourself up some souvenirs and be sure to get a picture at the Route 66 sign
(end of the road)

This was probably a very nice attraction some years ago, now it just feels out-dated. You get a nice view from there but thats it.

The historic Santa Monica pier is great, highly recommend visiting as the views of the beach and coastline towards Malibu are breathtaking. A lot of little food stands and street performers make this area a great afternoon stop during your visit.
