Its not like the movies.
Seems more like a theme park and there are homeless every where.
It was a real let down in my opinion.

Have always intended to visit Santa Monica Pier and finally got around to it.
Had a ride on the ferris wheel and generally enjoyed our morning there. Very touristy but sometimes you just need to be a tourist and enjoy it.

The pier is an awesome way to see the Ocean and the mountain view on either side. The big wheel views on a clear day are breath taking. There are many food choices on the pier.

We spent an hour here nighttime at the end of a tour of LA. We could see the Malibu fire in the distance with smoke and orange flames. The Pier was a vibrant and neat place to visit.

Nostalgic pier but needs more food options. Rides , boardwalk vendors, loud.. excellent views overlooking Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica beach. A bit dirty but a fun walk .

Fun, fun, fun for everyone who loves the beach, the smell of the ocean, the Mountain Views, the amusement park, the crowd from all walks of life,...Santa Monica Pier has it all. Cast a line and catch those mackerels, and with luck, big ones like tunas, halibuts, blue runners... or just stroll around and enjoy the sights and sounds around you, the bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, surfboards, motorboards, sun lovers, street performers, food and more.

What a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood - a beautiful pier with lovely restaurants etc. Even on a foggy day we enjoyed our visit.

An old fashioned attraction offering lots for all the family. A range of places to eat and have fun.

I really enjoyed myself and wanted to stay longer, but it was part of the tour, so time was limited. Its also a great family place. They have rides and also an area for small children to ride, food and of course areas to relax on the beach, and it is well controlled.

My husband, son (18), son (9) and myself spent at least 2 hours on the rides with the unlimited wristband. Just make sure you want to ride most of the rides or you can purchase tickets to each ride separately.

After that, we looked at the vendors and bought a T-shirt because a bird pooped on my husbands clothes. We walked down the pier and took pictures. It was fun just walking around and “window shopping”.

We ate at Bubba Gumps Seafood which was average, but worth it because we had a view of the beach. Afterwards, we went and sat on the beach dipping our feet in the ocean. We did buy a football to throw as well.

It can get expensive there but we did make a day out of it. Definitely recommend!!!
