Pastries and bread at Kelly's are very good, breakfast seemed at most just ok. I had the poached eggs with salmon and avocado: two pieces of toast, each with a modest slice of nova, one of the two poached eggs overdone, and a small sliced piece of avocado. The presentation was unappealing, and made the dish seemed overpriced (at $15.95 --and bus your own table).

We have enjoyed Kelly's in the past but found our recent visit to be disappointing. Portions seemed smaller and presentation was not as pleasing. Prices are high even by Santa Cruz standards. Staff seemed harried and was having difficulty dealing with the crowds. Service was extremely slow -- half an hour from ordering to getting one salad and one sandwich. My goat cheese salad was over-dressed to the point of being inedible. To their credit they did give me another one with dressing on the side but by the time that one arrived my husband had finished his meal. All in all a disappointing lunch.

We knew it was going to be good! There was a line out the door the entire time we were there. The food and espresso were good. We tried a mocha macaroon and a ginger cookie, and they were both delicious. They had so many other beautiful pastries, cakes, and desserts. We ordered lunch to take-away, and while the food was yummy and worth the wait, we waited over 30 minutes for our order of 5 sandwiches and a soup. I would definitely go again, but only on a leisurely occasion, not for a quick-bite.

My family patronized Kelly's almost from their opening for 25 years.

Great bread and pastries! Great Coffee! There isn't anything I would not recommend.

Stopped in for some breakfast and it was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had the granola, fruit and yoghurt with a double espresso. Highly recommend and will return.
