A friend of ours told us when we got to Santa Cruz we had to stop at The Crow's Nest. Our friend use to live in Santa Cruz, this was his favorite place. We were not disappointed, service was awesome. We ordered the Calamari, the best we have ever had, tender and tasty. The menu offered Wednesday specials. Hubby ordered the Steak special, you could choose prime rib or sirloin steak, potatoes (mashed), steam vegetables, rolls and a choice of a glass of wine or house martini. I ordered the soup and salad bar. The featured soup was tomato florentine. Great afternoon in Santa Cruz

We had a very pleasant family lunch and enjoyed the harbor and ocean views from our window table. The service was excellent. That being said, the food ranged from pretty good to not so good. The crab cake benedict was very tasty and a creative twist. The featured special of Hawaiian Ono was down right poorly prepared.

No all day menu and seating as websites describes. Salad bar extra for not much. Average food. View was outstanding for window tables. Difficult access, paid parking. Lower level not open during afternoon. Had to carry salad bar food upstairs. Seriously a reason why food was on the stairs and floor. Otherwise, okay at best.

Had a family reunion luncheon recently in the upstairs restaurant. Spectacular views of the harbor, jetty, and various boats coming and going. Great food and service. There were 10 in our party, the staff accommodated our every need. I've been frequenting this establishment for decades, highly recommended.

The Crow's Nest is the quintessential Santa Cruz eatery. It's upscale but not obscenely expensive ($$$ but not $$$$). The food is excellent - especially the seafood - and the salad bar is impressive. Service is always good and the atmosphere definitely feels "special occasion". If you're looking for a more casual experience, just go upstairs to the bar. They have a different menu with $$ priced options, you still have a great view, and there's live music on the weekends. You can sit outdoors if you like, both in the main restaurant and upstairs. Parking is usually available in the paid parking lot - Crow's Nest validates (or at least, they used to).
