Our first time to this wonderful harbor side restaurant. Fresh food, great salad bar and cold beers. Window seats are a must, very relaxing. Couple of the local streets impacted by construction, but worth the stop.

Upstairs Crow's Nest if my all time fav for any season of the year! A glass of wine in spring-summer-fall and an Irish Coffee in the winter. Great windows and upper deck to view the Harbor entrance and Monterey Bay views--sailboats, fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boards, seals, the Lighthouse, etc....Love their stuffed artichokes, caliari, fish tacos, but truly a place to meditate, socialize, celebrate or get over life's ups and downs!

Went with another couple tonight for dinner after spending the day down in the Monterey Peninsula area.

Walked in around 6PM with no reservations, but we were seated within about 10-15 minutes. Got seated near an open door, but were re-seated within a few minutes in the middle of the restaurant with a much nicer view of the harbor.

Maybe our waitress was a little overwhelmed, but it was more than 10 minutes until she came by for drink orders. To her credit, she did take our entire order at once, and the service was quite good after the initial concern.

The appetizers were good, and the clam chowder came out piping hot. All too often I get chowder in restaurants served at a temperature which allows you to dig in with no fear of burning your tongue, so this was a pleasant surprise. Our entrees were also served hot, tasty and plentiful. Everyone was quite pleased.

As noted in my title, I thought the prices were a bit on the high side. With 4 non-alcoholic beverages, an appetizer (1 salad and 3 chowders) and 4 entrees, the bill came to more than $150 before tip. The food, ambience and service were all quite good, but I think that close to $200 with no alcohol is a little much. Would we return? Probably for a special occasion, but not with any regularity, I'm afraid.

Had a reservation for 5:45 for Tuesday lobster dinner. Told it would be 10-15 minutes when we arrived at 5:45. Checked back with staff after 20 minutes and was told it would be a few minutes. Checked back again at 6:30. Got a “Sorry, just a few more minutes. We were seated at 6:40. Totally unacceptable. Reservations do not work here!

Lovely, relaxing harbor view, fair service, with friendly staff, food tourist geared, expensive and not memorable. I might try it again for breakfast, but I’d say go if you want a pleasant view and aren’t looking for a foodie find.
