Dined on a Monday evening. Arrived close to 7 and was told there would be an approx 20min wait. It was actually shorter than that.

Was given a choice of seating in the BBQ area or not. Chose the former and orders the marinated galbi, bulgogi and pork belly.

The spread of complimentary Korean side dishes was good varying from fruit salad, marinated beans, seasoned vegetables and various kimchi dishes. There was also a bowl of vegetables much like colesaw but without the dressing.

Our waitress grilled our orders at our table, changing a grill for each type of meat and kept the side dishes full. We didn't have an issues communicating compared to some other reviews.

The marinated galbi was delicious. The bulgogi was good but a bit dry. The pork belly was good but by then, we were quite full already. We were also provided with a complimentary bowl of soup at the beginning and served a small bottle of yakult like drink each at the end as dessert.

Overall, the ambience was ok, the food was great, the service was great.

This was our first visit here, previously we had been to other all-you-can-eat style Korean BBQ. We got there early (5:30pm or so), so our wait was not very long (we were told it was going to be 45 minutes, it was only 20-25 minutes). When we left we could see that wait was quite long. Our first waitress didn't have very good English skills and since we had questions, we needed another waitress. Once we got to ordering, we definitely ordered too much food. The typical multiple small plates were all good, the seafood pancake was delicious. Although, my daughter and I are both dumpling fans we did not care for the "giant dumplings". The short ribs (bone-in) and boneless (grilled at table) were excellent. The waitress did grill most of items at the table, so that was nice. Overall, good for special occasions.

For tasty Korean BBQ, this is the place to go. All their delicious meats are great, the spicy ones are not only very spicy but very flavorful. Their soft tofu is also very very good. Will return and highly recommend.

Foods are tasteful specially their bbq and seafood pancake. Friends and I normally hang out for lunch on this place. We love their foods and we never get tired of it. We just observed that sizes of meal a little bit smaller portion compared before and price rose up.

I stumbled on Jang Su Jang last week while shopping with friends. After accomplishing our mission to locate a particular dress, we decided to have Korean food for dinner. Our first choice had just closed its' doors so we located Jang Su Jang nearby.

We were told it would be 30 to 40 minutes to get a cooktop table and given a pager. We noticed that, when other parties were called, they were called by name. We were not called by name.

Once seated, we were given hot tea and menus. The menu was beautifully done with excellent choices, but the choices were confusing as to portion size, so we asked for help.

Perhaps it was a language barrier. I never quite knew how much English our waitresses understood. One waitress would answer completely and the other would say yes, nod and bring something. Our direct question regarding a small dish of sauce yielded the answer "fish sauce" without any idea what we might want to try it on.

We had a cooking table so we ordered Kalbi and bulgogi to be cooked for us at the table. The portions were plentiful, deliciously spiced and very tasty. The kimchi dishes were varied and extremely good. The Napa cabbage kimchi was hot and spicy without losing the flavor of the cabbage.

We also ordered pot stickers: six large and six small. The large ones were enough for a meal in themselves and included kimchi which gave them bite. Unfortunately because we didn't understand the portion size, we wound up taking these home.

The restaurant has an upscale feel for its' location in a strip mall. The decor uses a grey and pastel Asian color scheme, closer to what Americans think of in a Japanese restaurant, with muted lighting. Our room had an add-on feel to it which still managed a coziness.

Jang Su Jang provided good food, good atmosphere, and hit-and-miss service. With the demise of the Korean buffet across the street, they will need to step up their service game a little to draw that crowd, but they seem poised to do this.

The main reason I gave 3 stars was because of the service. If we had been able to communicate a bit better with the staff, we might have made different menu choices and been a bit more adventurous. Next time!
