Nice and clean hotel. Excellent location but breakfast was a great disappointment, no proper seating, breakfast was situated at the foyer with no proper setting, cold boiled eggs, paper cups, plastic knives:-(

Grand old classic hotel in the heart of Santa Barbara. We’ve been coming for years. The rooms are very nice and spacious but with outdated bathrooms. There are not many amenities but everything is located within blocks. Breakfast was included. Valet was a reasonable $15/day. They use a very old elevator that works occasionally (it went down while we were there). So you might consider 2nd fl if you don’t like walking stairs. Very friendly service.

Checked into the hotel and waited until our room was available (they have a late check in.) Went into the rickety OLD elevator with an expired license which hung proudly and prayed that it would not brake down. Got to the room with NO air conditioning on and was stuffy with filthy carpeting. Granted that it was a special weekend with Fiesta going on and therefore paid top dollar per night (was there for 4 nights.) Everyday that the housekeeper left, she would shut off the air conditioning which I felt that I was paying for. Once got back to the room and there was no shower curtain hanging- the hooks were at the sink, and the liner was on the floor- NO curtain. STRANGE! Thought that the hotel was better suited for the Adams Family or the Munsters! Valet ($15.- per night was VERY nice. Continental breakfast was the same- basically seemed to be furnished by Costco. Don't stay here- it is really an OLD dump.

Lovely hotel in the middle of Santa Barbara. Lively neighborhood, lots of bars and restaurants.
Starbucks is a step away, grocery store a few steps.
Despite the busy street, te hotel is peaceful.
Breakfast has all you need and the valet service works like a charm.
Tip: when arriving at the hotel by car, stop in front, don’t bring your suitcases in, check in, and follow the instructions to park. Then take your luggage and family out.

Great find! Excellent location near restaurants and shops. Cozy room with amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Very cool, historic elevator. Loved the historic charm of the hotel. Only stayed one night but wish we had been able to stay longer. No other bed we slept in measured up to this one.
