“Eagle Inn of Santa Barbara”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

The Eagle inn was PERFECT for us! There was complimentary, fresh breakfast that you can eat in the main lobby or in your own room. We stayed in the Anacapa room which was a great size. Comfortable bed, fireplace, a tub that can fit to people, your own little porch....The inn lets you rent out bikes which is perfect, as the inn is 2 blocks from the beach/harbor and less than a mile from the main drag that has all the shopping and restaurants. The harbor has some great restaurants that aren’t overpriced. There are a few wineries in Santa Barbara, but we did the Wine Edventures tour through Santa Ynez. We had a very bubbly tour driver pick us up and take us to 4 different wineries….a must do! Lunch was included. We also did a sunset cruise through The Santa Barbara Sailing center that was beautiful and lasted a couple hours. My husband liked the Red Tile tour you go walk or ride your bike…I recommend walking if it is a busy season. Good for history buffs.

I stayed in the Queen room with veranda for one night. It was spacious and comfortable. The veranda is huge! The bed is comfortable and the fireplace is a nice touch.

I recommend checking out their last minute specials on the website if you're booking within a week of your stay. 10-25% off regular rates. They probably won't have any availability during summer weekends, but a great deal for the off-season stays.

We stayed less than 24 hours in the Santa Catalina Casita for the Bon Iver concert on 4/22, and it was a treat. It's in a great location, walking distance to everything. The casitas are wonderful, with their comfy beds, wonderful jacuzzis, fireplace, and kitchenettes. The bike rental and breakfast (yay for quiche) were the cherries on top. We rode to the Santa Barbara Bowl. The only complaint we had was the loud noise starting at 8:00 am on Monday morning. One would hope they would alert their guests that workers would be there so early, and it didn't stop for 2+ hours, but everything else was great. We will definitely be back, but we'll be sure to request a quiet room.

Room Tip: If you're going to the Santa Barbara Bowl, rent Eagle Inn's bikes. The Bowl has a free bike...

The breakfasts are good, but the downstairs room we had was noisy. I think the place is overpriced compared to the nearby competition.

Room Tip: Stay away from the downstairs rooms, if you're going to stay here.

Sorry to hear you found the hotel too noisy. If only you would have requested a room upstairs. They get less foot traffic and would probably have been better for you. Or for real seclusion, you could have stayed in one of our fabulous "casitas" that are located in a seperate area behind the main building. Next time!

We loved our stay at the Eagle Inn. The place is charming, the breakfasts were fantastic! We were able to get to everything very easily. We felt all the staff was very accommodating. Our room was a little small, but the price was good and we had everything we needed. Very homey atmosphere.
