Lots of meat-and-dairy-heavy food well prepared and served in a slightly upscale diner atmosphere.
I have to stop going for lunch on Fridays because the clam chowder -- homemade and excellent, with lots of clams and fresh cream -- just comes in too big an serving (soup bowl filled to the brim), and I don't have the will power not to finish it.
Breakfasts are the major strong suit, and more than a few old-timers have told us that they like to go for an early dinner special and take the leftovers home for the next day's lunch.
Good service, good food served in abundance without pretense, and no surprises. What more do you want?
