Not sure why some of the negative reviews. Never heard the train at night, room was clean and service was up to what is expected at a Marriott. Breakfast was good and the staff was able to handle the demand ( lots of families with lots of children). Close to the beach, Costco next door for any items you might have forgotten and the staff was happy to refund one of the days points due to a shortened stay. Would come back again

Nice room. Pictures made the rooms and pool area look larger, but it was fine for our short stay. The complimentary breakfast bar was quickly removed at 9:00am, which we thought was a bit early, but otherwise a nice hotel.

Parking is NOT free ($15/night)
Wifi is so slow you cannot stream.
It's not clean! Lobby looks fine, but go check out the hallways on 2nd & 3rd floor- gross!
Local homeless roam the parking lot for whatever they can take.
Noise from the interstate (I5) is constant and the train comes through loud and clear on a frequent and horn-loud basis.

Room tip: Go elsewhere

We stayed here the night before we caught a ferry from Dana Point to Catalina Island. It's very close, less then two miles and only a 10 minute drive from the ferry if you're going to be riding on it.

The property is very well maintained and the rooms were clean and bright. I used the laundry facility and that was nice. And the breakfast was great! Freshly made waffles were the highlight, along with all other good things on a morning buffet style breakfast that comes complimentary with the room. We would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is very convenient and right off the highway. There’s complimentary breakfast, and they pick up groceries for you if you give them a list by a certain time. The staff are fun and very helpful!

The downsides are that it’s noisy in certain parts of the hotel, especially when the train passes, and the room doesn’t smell the freshest if the fridge has a bit of an odor. I’ve been in residence inns before that have used some type of air fresheners to mask that smell. An arm and hammer box in the fridge could help too...
