Now, this was my first experience with Moroccan cuisine...so I might now be the best judge. But everything that I tasted was good.

We started off with a plate of Hummus, which was very good. A little extra garlicky, but I love it that way. Hummus was served with bread. A big wiker tagine shaped backet full of soft warm bread was placed next to us.
We had a Chicken and Vegetarian B'stilla each. This was a very interesting dish and a must try. The Chicken B'stilla had a mildly spiced chicken filling in a sweetened flaky pastry.

The vegetarian Tagines were good. But the Chichen Kebab was delicious! i wish the potion sizes were bigger, for the price they charge.
The Hen and lemon Tagine was superb. Very flavourful chicken, laid on a bed of spiced couscous and topped with marinated lemon rinds. Must try!

They have done up the place in middle eastern style with low seating. Be prepared for some cross legged style floor seating.

The service was great.

We finished our meal with a glass or warm mint tea...which was brilliant!

We ate here on a Sunday night recently with our 3 teenage kids. Our kids are used to trying different types of food and experiencing other cultures, so they weren't put off by sitting on the floor or eating food we wouldn't have at home. We got 2 of the 6 course feasts and all had plenty to eat. The waitress said they don't always allow one table to order 2 different feasts, but we could since it wasn't busy. We had fish, chicken, lamb, and rabbit. All of it was so good. The cous cous with vegetables was yummy, too. The staff was very attentive.

We have no Moroccan restaurants in Reno, NV.
I know, it's sad. :(

My group of friends and I have tried other Moroccan fare in other cities, but Menara is definitely the best we have had!

The whole staff is friendly and very on top of things. Your water will NOT go empty.

The food is just amazing.

For those who don't know how a Moroccan restaurant does things:
You go in and sit down on pillows on the floor or low benches. You order your dinner. They wash your hands and then start bringing you food. And more food. And more food. And you watch the belly dancer while you eat. Then you finish with a light dessert and hot tea.

So, this is more of an experience than just a meal.

And Menara is wonderful at providing that experience.
