Oak Avenue Catering (formerly known as Knickerbocker’s) provided 5-star service, excellent attention to detail and not to mention the gourmet, quintessential Napa Valley cuisine for our recent wedding in St. Helena! We feel very lucky to have had them cater our wedding, as they don’t do many (they are quite popular in the valley – book well in advance). The owners, Chris & Shannon Kelly, really worked with us on our budget, and John Diba, the manager, was great with follow up and very patient with our last minute adjustments. Everyone raved about the food and how their team was able to pull off such a gourmet dinner for 105 people in the middle of a vineyard on a mountain with scarce electricity! Additionally, they staffed the event just right and no one was ever waiting for a drink to be refilled or wondering where their plate was. We served a mozzarella/tomato starter, had a chicken, short rib (boneless) and vegetarian dish. Chris made us a beautiful cake with lemon custard, cream cheese filling and a champagne infused buttercream frosting. My only regret is not taking the time to eat my entire plate! Good thing I sampled everything at our tasting and I’m already looking forward to enjoying more cake at our one-year anniversary. Absolutely a 5-star experience and meal. NOT your typical “wedding food” experience!
