Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the heavenly peace and comfort there. The host, Roy, is more than dedicated to make your stay as perfect as possible. And believe what they say about the breakfast, it was really great (i.e. fresh strawberrys and other healthy/delicious stuff!)

We certainly will go back there, when we are around.

The Spanish Villa Inn is charming, in a good location, and a good value. It's located just off Silverado Trail in St. Helena and was a convenient base for visiting wineries in central and northern Napa Valley.

The grounds of the Spanish Villa Inn are lovely. There are numerous outdoor sitting areas, including next to a fountain and under a trellis covered in grape vines. The innkeeper told us to help ourselves to anything growing on the numerous fruit trees, including pears, apples, pomegranates, and figs.

The innkeeper was very nice and helpful. He had good recommendations for wineries and restaurants to visit in Napa and gave us several coupons for free or 2-for-1 wine tastings.

We had a nice, but not huge, room with a king size bed. The bathroom was particularly nice with floor to ceiling Spanish tiles and a modern and elegant shower/bathtub. We also had a small fenced in outdoor patio with table and chair.

Breakfast was a generous continental breakfast of granola, muffins, a large variety of bagels, and hard boiled eggs. The homemade granola is excellent and we didn't go hungry, but I tend to expect a warm breakfast at a B&B.

We stayed there midweek in September and were able to negotiate a discounted rate with the owner by paying with cash. It was more affordable than other B&B's we looked at in the area.

The Spanish Villa Inn was beautiful, and it is such a great location. It was very close to St. Helena (lots of great restaurants and wineries), but was off of the main drag, so it was quiet and serene, in a neighborhood setting. The room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was large and beautiful. We stayed for 2 nights in June - the first (Thurs) there was only 1 other couple, the second (Fri) there were more people, but we never had problems with noise.

The owner (Roy) was great with recommendations for restaurants, and always eager to help. His wife makes homemade granola that is fantastic. For a B&B the breakfast is sparse (some fruit, granola, bagels, hard boiled eggs and cheese), but Roy did offer to make us other things if we wanted. It was fine for us, since you overeat in Napa anyway - a light start seemed just right.

There are several nice common spaces, including a bocce ball court and huge outdoor living area, the eating area (which feels like a closed-in porch), a library and room with big comfy leather couches and a TV. There is a great binder with reviews of local restaurants and lots of information on the local wineries. Our bed was so comfortable I almost didn't want to get up...until I remembered where I was. Every room has a private patio opening onto the lovely grounds. We would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend it for a relaxing evening respite between wine tastings.

The Spanish Villa Inn is owned by very kind and loving people. The hotel is one of the best deals around, and the room we stayed in is cosy, with the most enormous, delicious, incredible bed. It was such a wonderful sleep. The owners of the Inn are very special and gracious people who are helpful. We left some belongings there and they were very helpful and sweet about everything. We are sorry for them that the negative reviews are here, but everyone has different experiences in every place-in fact, some of the most expensive one-to five thousand dollar a night suites in some cities have bedbugs, so you cannot say everything is perfect for everyone. This Inn is filled with loving people, so that makes it outstanding.
