Owner description: V. Sattui Winery is a family-owned property located in the heart of Napa Valley, which was founded in 1885 and makes more than 60 different wines with dozens of 90+ point rated wines among its current vintages. It is a stunning, must-see Napa Valley destination for picnics, weddings and events, offering an impressively robust Cheese Shop with more than 200 selections, an excellent Deli directed by Chef Gerardo Sainato, and a Salumeria directed by Stefano Masanti. The sprawling estate includes two-dozen picnic tables nestled beneath ancient Valley Oak trees and tri-level terraces that overlook beautifully manicured gardens and vineyards.

We have been their monthly wine members for over a year now and have visited the winery multiple times for tasting and picking up our shipments.

We always have delightful visits here. It is a very busy place on weekends so prepare to get close to your table mates and talk loud.
They have a deli in there with good sandwich choices and cheeses, lovely ground for picnics.

We would recommend this place for weddings and other special occasions too, the scenery is simply gorgeous.

Do come check this place out!

Let’s be clear: while the wine here is good, you stay for the gourmet deli and the scenery.
One member of our party had asked to do a tasting here as she’d been here 25 years ago and had such fond memories of it. We understood why when we got there. The castle like building, its accompanying terrace and gardens, and the shaded grounds with picnic tables all over, on a glorious NoCal day, were picture perfect.
After our terrace tasting, overlooking the gardens, we were still hungry so we made our way to the “deli” our friend remembered. If only every deli had jars of fois gras with chopped locally grown fresh figs over the top, fresh bread from Thomas Keller’s Bouchon bakery, and an assortment of local cheeses that all looked amazing, the world would be a happier place. We bought our food and a bottle of wine and spent the next 2 hours sitting at a picnic table on the grounds, enjoying the day. It was perfection.
We were told by our driver we’d hired that we would “regret” going here - “busloads of tourists and the wine’s not that good” - but nothing could be further from the truth. Granted, we were there on a Friday, so maybe the weekends at peak harvest are like that, but it was not our experience. I do recommend reserving and paying in advance for your tasting experience, which allows you to skip any line - we walked right in when we arrived. Go and enjoy.

Lived in the area. Tried many wineries over the years. They make consistently superior wines of depth and flavor.

My wife and I did a food and wine pairing at V. Sattui in late September. Virginia was our guide / host, and she was amazing! The wine was great, the food spectacular, and everyone at that function really enjoyed the experience. We rate it highly!!

Something for everyone can be found at V. Sattui. The tasting room and marketplace are spacious. Reasonable offerings. Worth a stop in if you're in the area.
