“Beautiful Architecture”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

This neo-classical building is beautiful inside and out - beautifully lit at night and during Christmas there are free performances when the legislature is out for the holiday.

“Best of Sacramento”
Reviewed 16 March 2012

Capitol Park is such a wonderful place to go, filled with California history. It has several beautiful memorials to commemorate those who fought in WWII, and has a few hidden gardens and secluded areas. It is always very clean, and it's a perfect place to get pictures of the State Capitol.

“Nice place to walk”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

It's nice to take a break and walk around the park. During the spring and summer lots of plants are flowering. Check out the fish pond on the east side. Great place to sit and people watch as well.

“Well worth the stop and the park is amazing.”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

There are docent tours of this beautifully restored building. If the legislature is in session you can watch from the galley. The original business rooms are restored and the basement cafeteria has really good food. The best part is Capitol park where there are amazing trees, landscaping and walks. State employees often lunch in the park sitting on a bench watching the squirrels and the tourists. The trees are all marked and landscapers often send folks there to see the growing patterns. It is said that back in the day the founders tried to get a tree from everywhere in the world. It is really a must see when you head to Sacramento. The bookstore is great and has books on California history as well as a tree book about the park.
