We love this place. This restaurant has been in business for over 50 years. First, it was Luis's when it was owned by the father. Then, it became Luis Jr's when the the son took over. Luis Jr was doing the cooking when his dad owned the business; so, the food is still prepared the same. And, you don't stay in the restaurant business for over 50 years without serving good food. Why we love this place so much and always make a point of eating there when we are in Sacramento is, from the salsa to the tortillas, everything is house made with fresh ingredients. Ask yourself, when was the last time you had complimentary, homemade tortillas at a Mexican restaurant. Except for Luis Jr's, I don't remember when. Their new location in Old Sacramento only adds to the experience with the ambiance of an historic location. One last thing, excellent margaritas too.
