Owner description: Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

“Relaxing and beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2011

The grounds are lovely and serene. We wanted to move in! The tasting is wonderful and they provided "treats": a large platter of nuts, berries, breadsticks and cheese. It all went so well with the wines presented. Our host spent a great deal of time with us ... and we were able to learn while relaxing. Ahhhhhh

“Great wine tasting”

The wines were excellent. We had a nice food tray with our tasting--cheese, almonds, etc. The tasting was conducted in a nice setting on the back porch, overlooking the grounds.

“Great Winery!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2011

We arranged for a tour prior to getting to CA. So happy that I took the time to plan the tour. We had a walking tour throughout the vineyard. It was informative, interesting, and we enjoyed the wine tasting. Best tour of the vineyards we visited.

“Beautiful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2011

Frog's Leap was our second tasting on our recent visit to Napa and was beyond expectations! What a wonderful setting to taste wines on their patio along with complimentary cheese and crackers. We were also able to taste grapes right off the vine! Pleasant service, we left with a Pinot!
