It's a lovely hotel in the middle of downtown Riverside, very picturesque and upscale. The physical environment was pleasant, but it lacked in service. While making the reservation, I requested a room with handicapped facilities for my 86 year old mother. I was told that there were few handicapped rooms and that they were booked during the time of our stay. That being said, I was shocked to find out at check-in that our room was located on the third floor, through a sitting area, down a few stairs, and almost at the very end of the u-shaped upper level. It literally took us 15 minutes from getting out of the car to walking into our room. We stayed for nine nights, so just leaving the room was a big effort for my mom. We ended up ordering room service for her breakfasts and a dinner because of the room location. In addition, the pillows were impossibly lumpy, the laundry service was very irregular, there was a lot of street noise at night, and there were not nearly enough chairs around the pool. People were diving over one another to get the coveted lounge chairs, and many guests were sprawled on the concrete. Also, there was a big desk in the lobby for a concierge, but there was never anyone sitting there. I had to stand in line at the front desk to request information.

Room Tip: Verify accessibility while making the reservation. The hotel is very large with many stairs, corridors, and walkways.

This Hotel never fails to amaze me. Had the Raincross King Bed room.. 3 rd floor Thsi Hotel is the STAR. Our 6th trip, we wonder all over the property and see things that we didn't see before.. Just a great property.. We were allowed to check in early valet and bag delivery was awesome. infact every employee we engaged with was super nice and profesional..

Room Tip: Try to get a room that is not over the music room, or private party/bar area, music rocks til 12 midnight.

Stayed here during a business trip. The hotel was amazing. Breakfast and Dinner was arranged for our trip, there wasn’t a bad item any of the four days I was there.

Great room, cold ac. The view from the 3rd floor is fit for a postcard.

Overall I would give it 4.5 stars
Pros:The service here is outstanding, the beds/pillows are very comfortable, the food overall was excellent.
Cons: parking is an issue unless you valet ($23/night) and the pool area is my biggest complaint - there is extremely limited seating! everyone we asked said it was due to fire code but you pay to lounge by the pool so what do you do if there's no seating?

I've eaten at the Mission Inn several times. The setting is unbelievably charming -- endlessly interesting with architectural details, tile work, iron work, a variety of winding passageways. The place was built around 1900 and it retains its authenticity. Very special. The lunches I've had, in the dining room and on the Mexican patio, are good, but not extraordinary. Service is attentive. I haven't stayed her but some friends have and deem it one of their favorite places.
