Windsong Cottage
Reviewed 22 April 2012

My partner and I recently stayed at Windsong Cottage for two nights and it was not easy to leave! As soon as we walked in, we could feel the welcoming, peaceful vibe of the place. The view of the hills and the bay are gorgeous.
There were English muffins and fresh fruit on the table and eggs and butter and yummy orange juice in the fridge. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need to prepare your own meals.
The huge hot tub sits in a lovely, private garden. The jets are great and it's also wonderful to turn them off and listen to the wind and the birds.
The bed is extremely comfortable and we loved the skylight! Looking up at the round ceiling and skylight was like looking at a mandala.
The Tamales Bay Trail is only a mile and a half from the cottage and it's beautiful- we saw many different species of birds!
We loved reading guest book entries going back more than 20 years- so many testimonies to this sweet, round sanctuary!
Needless to say, we highly recommend this place and we hope to return many times.

Third time staying at Windsong Cottage and can't wait to go back again. Lovely surroundings, comfortable bed, hot tub, breakfast fixings, privacy, quiet--who could ask for more?

The unit was large, comfortable, quiet and well equipped, but a little worn around the edges. Repainting the interior would make it sparkle. Available food for 2 nights was milk, OJ, 6 eggs, Thomas' English Muffins, 2 apples, 2 bananas, 2 pears & 2 oranges. DirecTV worked well. Wi-Fi download speed was 7 Mbps. The view as OK, but nothing spectacular and included several of the neighbor's fences. (see photo)

One drawback was the long, bumpy unpaved driveway which is shared by other houses. Walking to town was not an option due to distance, narrow shoulders, and traffic on the highway. The owner requested that I mail a check for the entire amount within 3 days of making the reservation. This made me uncomfortable since no other innkeeper has ever made this request, but we had no problems

My husband and I stayed here over the 4th of July and it was such a peaceful escape in an area surrounded by horse and cow farms. We could even see the bay from the living room. The location is great: close to Olema, Point Reyes Station and Marshall. And the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day after a long hike through the forests there. Don't miss Cowgirl Creamery, Nick's Cove, and the BBQ oysters at Marshall store. The cottage was an essential part of our perfect weekend.

My boyfriend and I have been all over California for years and this is the best place we have visited! The jacuzzi was the best part- very private and the jets had different settings. The mist felt great overhead. Anthony, the owner is a genuinely generous guy- he called afterwards to ask how he could improve our stay! He left fresh food in the fridge, books, games, and we had cable. The deer and horses roaming around made it feel magical! The skylight over the cozy bed, and the domed loftiness of the yurt made us fall in love with it! Thanks Anthony- we will be back to visit soon!
