Meadowlark Dairy is famous in our town of Pleasanton. It is very hot here and what better way to cool off then to eat a cold ice cream cone. They are quick inexpensive and you can drive through. Take your friends and family and treat yourselves to some good old-fashion ice cream.

A trip to Meadowlark Dairy is like stepping back in time. One does not actually go "into" the store, but it is rather a drive-thru. Often in the summer traffic will be backedup more than a block, with cars waiting in line to drive through Meadowlark. Once a vehicle is in the driveway, one of several youth, dressed in white tee shirt and jeans, comes to your car window and takes your order. They will go fill your order and bring it back to you, and you pay them directly. I hope you decide to tip them generously. They are out there in all kinds of weather, always with a smile, and good service. There is also a walk-up window where people strolling by can stop and order a soft-serve cone or something and then continue their stroll around downtown. The staff remind me very much of being in 4-H in my youth. They are courteous and work hard and always look well-groomed. The ice cream is wonderful, too! In addition to ice cream they sell milk, bacon, ice, and other sundry items. Well worth the visit.

Meadowlark Dairy is a great place to go on a warm afternoon or evening. You have a choice of a “drive-thru” or walking up for service. Not only is the softies great, you have to try one of their “Diablos”!!

Ice cream is only one of their many products available. You can get milk, cereal, bacon, eggs, sodas and much more while not getting out of your vehicle. Great for those early or late night runs.

The staff are great! Meadowlark employes local high school and college kids, who are always friendly and helpful.

Meadowlark is a 90+ year old family business who has not forgotten the importance of Community involvement.

Where else can you drive up and get milk or other essentials (butter, ice cream, anything!) and the BEST part are the soft serve cones! Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry is always available. Other yummy flavors include Orange, Pineapple, occasionally Birthday Cake, egg nog and other seasonal flavors. Totally worth the long lines in summer! Iconic!
