This property is truly stunning and well maintained and the people who work here are very friendly and happy and professional. The restaurant is very good so it's nice to have that right there. And the little walkway is so pretty. But if that is too short of an area, there are plenty of places to walk/run adjacent to property as well.
A couple of warnings: there is no AC, and it can get stuffy. It won't bother you unless you run warm like I do. Also, if you are noise sensitive, let them know so you are placed in a quieter area. Other than that, have fun and enjoy!

We enjoyed our recent stay in a one-bedroom, ocean front condo. We were on the second level, furthest from the pool area, with an amazing view from our balcony. Everything was clean and the condo had all of the necessities, except A/C. Although A/C wasn't necessary in early September. We just opened the windows and the sliding doors to the balcony. The only real negative were the barking dogs. I had to initial a form on check-in that we did not have a dog, but apparently each condo is different. The one above us had a small dog which loved to bark on the balcony. The pool is nice and heated, and not crowded when we were there. We liked the fact the hotel was outside of Pismo Beach.

Put this one on your bucket list. As amazing and beautiful hotel with huge, fully equipped, well-decorated rooms and spectacular views. The grounds are stunning with some of the most beautiful vistas I have seen on the California Coast. The service was perfect starting with Patrick's assistance on reservations followed up by a call from Cami to be sure everything would be perfect for us. When we arrived, Cami remembered us and proceeded to get us into our room quickly. She is a gem. Pismo Beach is a beautiful area with plenty of great restaurants and a short drive to the wine country or a visit to Cambria. I changed my reservation from a non-view to a partial ocean view and it was well worth it. Have fun!

Room tip: Partial ocean view is really pretty much a full view from the balcony. It's worth the difference in price from a non-view room.

From the minute I checked in I have been so impressed with the staff and the facilities at the Dolphin Bay Resort. Beautiful rooms with amazing views..professional friendly staff who really care to make our stay special. My new favorite hotel on the Ocean in California. Live guitar player at dinner a special touch.

Our ground floor poolside suite was very nicely appointed, the restaurant was lovely and we really enjoyed our waiter with his animated stories about the area. The restaurant and the front desk staff were very kind and attentive bringing blankets for my elderly Mother for her 80th birthday dinner. But sadly there were a few issues with the rooms in the suite and the kitchen faucet wobbled significantly. The kitchen phone was defective, so I used the phone in the other room, the second bedroom was very dark and gloomy ...I had to get maintenance to replace 3 bulbs that had gone out. This should have been a quick fix but it wasn’t...distracted from our peaceful enjoyment as 3 staff members spent almost 3 hours over 2 days figuring out the lighting and A/C. One actually sat at the kitchen counter texting. She was very nice but I didn’t think that was appropriate while we were there in the family room trying to enjoy our stay. We stayed more than 3 nights and qualified for an extra night but were denied this offer without an severely increased price by the front desk even though it was promoted so this was disappointing. Our patio chairs disappeared so we could not sit outside one evening. But the grounds and outside lighting were luxurious and tastefully arranged. All in all the hotel is lovely but not sure it is worth the expense especially when the room needs attention and has not been properly maintained. Oh and make sure you allow 3 hours for laundry as the washing machine is a comb that takes its’ sweet time!!
