Owner description: In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently 360 Degrees in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle's pioneering spirit didn't stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle's 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 33 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. The German name "Eberle" translates to "small boar." At Eberle Winery, a bronze boar greets every guest who visits the Tasting Room. The statue is the 93rd replica of the original bronze Porcellino cast by Tacca in 1620. And today, the original can be found in the straw market in Florence, Italy. It is considered good luck to rub the boar's nose and toss a coin in the water below. Guest enjoy complimentary wine tasting and cave tours daily. Reservations for VIP Tour & Tasting, groups of 8 or more guests or reserve tastings please contact in advance.

Not only is the view amazing, it is very easy to find and the wines great, but the staff is amazing. They know what they are talking about spot on. We were informed about the free cave tour and welcomed to join. We had just drove into town, and they were all happy to give us advice on local restaurants and even other wineries to try.

Our first visit to Eberle and it was delightful. We decided the day before our visit to see if we could do the wine and cheese pairing in the caves. So glad we did as the pairings were perfect. Wines are very good at Eberle and for me the Zinfandel we tasted was outstanding. Dennis was our guide and he clearly knows the wines and what the winemaker is trying to achieve. We are from Northern California and enjoy many great wineries but we are every happy to have found a new favorite in Paso Robles. We also joined the wine club so we are looking forward to enjoying more Eberle wines.

We are winery owners and the winery was recommended to us. They were cooking/smoking something in their kitchen and all we could smell was the smoke. It smelled good but interfered with the wine bouquets. Our server was fantastic. Great smile and personality. Tastings were complimentary and they offer wine cave tours. The wine was ok. There were lots of people with dogs and kids. We skipped the cave tour, tipped our server and headed out.
Parents, kids dont belong wine tasting with you. We get that you want to do adult things but wineries are not the place for kids! The kids get bored and then they start climbing around in the gardens and jacking up the landscaping that costs $$$ to maintain. Meanwhile, mom and dad watch from inside and dont even bother to say one thing to them! When did this become ok? Makes you wonder what their homes are like. Parents, if you are going to bring your kids, make sure that they are respectful of the grounds and others who are here as well.
This is not a reflection on the winery. However, it made us leave in a quick hurry.

We selected this winery to tour on our drive to San Francisco as the tasting was free. It was wonderful. Our taster was interested in us and our likes and was very knowledgeable about the wines we tried. We read about the long history of this family winery as we sipped our wine. The tour of the caves was a bonus and we really totally enjoyed the whole experience. They welcome dogs and their dog was "working the room".

It is so frustrating going to a winery they don't serve or sell what is highly rated by Spectator or Enthusiast. Eberle has an awesome wine library which is really fun, we had dinner in the caves during Zin Fest Weekend and that is one of the best meals we have ever had. We brought home as much as we could fit in our suitcases. The wines were great and everyone working there knew their wines and enjoyed what they were doing (not every place in Paso is like that. I rarely post negative reviews so email me and I will tell you what to ski.)
