One-night stopover on the way down towards Santa Barbara. It wasn't exactly cheap ($120), although that more reflects massively over-inflated prices in this broad area in general. Room was ok, but one of the beds wasn't clean, and the walls were super-thin - kind of hard to sleep much because of the traffic noise outside. The owners seemed nice enough, and there are places nearby to grab breakfast, but wouldn't be returning in a hurry.

It was clean, the people were nice. Location was ok. Neighbors were loud, but we slept ok. I would stay here again for the price. We were here for just one night. Paso Robles is so beautiful!!! Must visit wine country!!!

This room was not like the rooms in the pictures. It was very small and had no windows (is that even legal?). The carpet was filthy. The bathtub was dirty and chipped. It seemed to be next to the owners' apartment and the plumbing noise in the morning was deafening. The bed was comfortable and seemed clean, but you didn't want to get up without putting your shoes on. There's either something wrong with the good reviews or we got put in the awful room.

Room Tip: Do not take the room that is out on the street!!!

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! It may appear clean on inspection, but attempts at renovations reveal a badly worn hotel in need of an implosion. Room that seemed to be an annexed room, next to owners/managers was awful! no window and walls were paper thin. I felt I was in the bathroom WITH the manager in the am. walls were badly peeling and carpeting wad disgusting.. I felt I needed to wear shoes so I would not catch anything. Dont stay here. spend a $100 more and find ANYTHING else.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

Disregard negative things you have read about Wine Country Inn...seems to be under new ownership. Lovely people ... and looks like they are a work in progress. Went to a concert in paso and just needed a place to stay and not drive over 2 hours home after. The outside of hotel is a work in progress I think but the rooms have obviously been renovated recently. New carpet, new plaster on walls, new fixtures and very clean. Has AC..a little fridge ..crisp new linens. For $65 bucks its a great place to stay.
